Story schedule: if stories are completed, I'll post them Wednesday/Thursday or Friday/Saturday: this is so I don't feel overwhelmed with ideas and I can write them without pressure! I'm hoping this schedule helps me with me with my selective memory and motivates me to write more!
Author's Note: Two stories in one day? That must be a new record! I love writing about Nina's friends, so I hope you enjoy this story! No pressure tags: @redgearsmovin and @nostalgiclittlespace
Flora, Claudia, and Olivia stood outside The Idea Warehouse, and Olivia looked at Flora and Claudia.
"Do you think it's okay to go inside?" she asked, and Flora looked at her.
"Why wouldn't it be? Technically, they are still inside: just not in The Think Tank."
Nina explained that earlier, she went to go see The Movers, saying she was getting a package all the way from Hawaii, but it got delivered to The Idea Warehouse by mistake.
When it turned out to be bowling balls instead of the things she needed for Hawaiian Day (pineapples, bananas, seashells, flowers, and coconuts), The Movers had the idea of getting the things Nina needed inside The Idea Warehouse (The Tropical Island Room).
However, The Movers haven't returned yet, which is why she sent Claudia, Olivia and Flora over to The Idea Warehouse to get pineapples, seashells, coconuts, flowers, and bananas.
Once they were inside The Think Tank, Flora pulled down the map of The Idea Warehouse.
"So we need seashells from The Shiny Seashell Room, pineapples from The Perfect Pineapple Room, coconuts from The Kooky Coconut Room, flowers from The Flower Room, bananas from The Going Bananas Room--"
"Wait, wouldn't The Jungle Room make more sense? I have a feeling that The Going Bananas Room doesn't actually have bananas." Claudia said, and Flora hesitated, until she circles The Jungle Room.
"Yeah, you're right: The Jungle Room makes more sense." she replied, and Claudia and Olivia looked at each other before they looked over at Flora.
It wasn't right to force Flora to tell them, but Claudia and Olivia knew something was wrong.
Claudia looks at Flora.
"Which room should we start with first, boss?"
Flora shook her head, clearing the thoughts she previously had before pointing to The Shiny Seashells Room.
"Maybe we can get the seashells first, and work our way towards The Jungle Room?" she asked.
Both Claudia and Olivia nod their heads.
When they got the seashells, the pineapples, the flowers, and coconuts, they were standing in front of The Jungle Room, but none of them were making a move to go inside.
Flora was looking at the door, biting her lower lip, while Claudia and Olivia were behind her.
"Hey, Olivia, do you think you could take the seashells and pineapples to Nina? Flora and I will bring the coconuts, the flowers, and the bananas."
Olivia nods, picking up the two bags.
"Sure."
"Thanks."
After Olivia left, it was just Claudia and Flora, and they both stared at The Jungle Room door, and Claudia turns to look at Flora.
"Why didn't you want to go into The Jungle Room?"
Claudia knew Flora for a long time, and Flora wasn't afraid of anything, and threw herself into everything that she did:
Including her jobs and even her relationship with Smitty.
"When I was looking for Rich during our game of Hide and Seek, I got stuck in a trap until Rich came to save me. So I guess I'm a little wary about going in there."
"But Rich, Scott, Smitty and Dave said that they removed every trap inside."
Flora nods.
"I know--"
"And Nina is counting on us to get those bananas."
Flora nods again, looking at The Jungle Room door.
"Okay, let's go in."
When they enter The Jungle Room, Flora and Claudia look at each other in surprise.
"Look at your dress!"
Flora looks down to see that her dress changed to something that you wear while on a safari, while Claudia wore a standard safari outfit.
Flora figures it must have something to do with the room.
Before she could go any farther, Claudia stops her.
"Wait: I want to take a picture so I can make it later."
Claudia pulls out a familiar looking camera, and Flora smiles.
"Is that Nina's camera?"
Claudia nods.
"She lets me borrow it sometimes."
After Claudia takes her picture, Flora and Claudia set off to find the bananas.
When they left The Jungle Room, they brought the bananas, the flowers and the coconuts to The Idea Cafe, where Nina, Olivia, and Warehouse were doing the hula, a traditional dance from Hawaii.
When Nina and Olivia were done dancing, Flora and Claudia went up to them.
"Looking good, babes!" Claudia said, while Olivia blushed, and Nina smiles as she accepts the bananas and the coconuts from Flora.
"Thanks for getting all of this for me: it seems like--"
At that moment, The Movers appeared, carrying bananas, flowers, coconuts, pineapples and seashells, cutting Nina off mid-sentence, and Nina could only smile.
Once the customers had left, it was just The Movers, Nina, Claudia, Olivia, Flora, and Warehouse Mouse, and The Movers were telling Nina, Olivia, Flora, Claudia, and Warehouse Mouse how they were stranded in The Tropical Island Room.
"How did you get off the island?" Olivia asked, and Dave looks at her.
"Scott made a couch." Dave replied, and Claudia looked at Scott.
"Good idea, big guy." she explained, and Scott looks her with a smile.
"Thanks, storm cloud."
Smitty was looking at something, and Rich took notice.
"What are you looking at, Smitty?"
"This picture of Flora: were you in The Jungle Room?" he asked, and Flora nods.
"That's where Claudia and I found the bananas."
"And your outfit in The Jungle Room changed?" Smitty asked again, and Flora nods.
"Does every room do that?" she asked, and Smitty shook his head.
"No, just The Magic Room, but I guess anything possible."
Flora nods, and Nina stands up from the table.
"Does anyone want smoothies? I think I have enough to make more."
After everyone said they wanted smoothies, Rich stands up from the table too.
"I can help you too if you want."
When Rich and Nina were gone, Claudia looks at Smitty.
"I'm going to be making a new dress for Flora: you can keep the picture when I'm done with the dress, Smitty."
Her tone was teasing, but Smitty got flustered, and Flora blushed.
"No, uh, that's fine." Smitty replied, while Scott, Dave, Olivia, and Claudia gave him and Flora knowing looks.
When Rich and Nina came out with the smoothies, they made a toast:
"To Hawaiian Day!" Nina stated.
"And to friends!" Rich adds.
Nina, Rich, Scott, Olivia, Dave, Smitty, Claudia, Flora, and Warehouse Mouse clinked their glasses, and started to drink their smoothies, the tradition of Hawaiian Day coming to a close.
what do you mean that during taylor’s wedding, there was not only a sudden, unexpected storm (fearless) with lightning strikes (opalite), the sky also went from blue to purple-pink (invisible string) to amber (marjorie) to golden (daylight)? the universe is always on her side
Reblogging that gifset of Gabby's Dollhouse: The Movie made me think of Gabby and her relationship with The Movers, Nina and Warehouse Mouse again: maybe tomorrow I'll work on Runaway Scribble Stick ❤️
Gabby's Dollhouse: The Movie (2025) dir. Ryan Crego
"It's just one day you're a kid and the world is brimming with imagination. Things feel so vibrant, alive. And then one day, I was an adult. And suddenly, I had all these other things going on. I'm not saying growing up is bad. It isn't. It's just... I lost a little bit of the glitter and sparkle."
