“She did not need much, wanted very little. A kind word, sincerity, fresh air, clean water, a garden, kisses, books to read, sheltering arms, a cozy bed, and to love and be loved in return.”
— Starra Neely Blade

" I'm afraid of getting older. I'm afraid of getting married. Spare me from cooking three meals a day - spare me from the rent less cage of routine and rote. I want to be free.... I want, I want to think, to be omniscient."
- Sylvia Plath, 1949 at the age of seventeen

Geof Kern -Couple on the Water, 1999
So long as you are reacting to the world, you will never question your own illusions.
Looking outward and solidifying our fixed notions of self through anger, fear, indignation, and longing actively distracts us from asking meaningful questions.
We don’t question the place from which our beliefs and motives arise. We don’t question the components of the self we think we are. We don’t question the phenomena we take for granted as Reality.
Directing meaningful questions along these lines will inevitably diminish your reactivity to the world and the ego.
