This is a dating simulator where you take a role of a gas station worker and meet new people. Mostly bikers.

Hiii i have some questions about Mai if you dont mind pookie. How does she view her parents and things that were happening in her household in retrospective? What events had the biggest impact on her personality? Why Lane? (This man is literally just some bullshit with legs, why him?) What is her favorite music genre and why? What does she likes to do to make herself feel better when things are getting tough?

1. How does she view her parents and things that were happening in her household in retrospective?
The best word to describe it is heartbroken. Despite watching her parents spiral more and more into conservative ideology, she really did hope they would be supportive of her when she told them about her sexuality. Of course, that's not what happened.
Mai didn't have a bad childhood at all. Her parents really loved her, and did everything in their power to make her happy. But as she grew, the difference betwen her views and theirs became that much more evident. She became sort of blissfully ignorant: believing her parents were still good people despite their political alliance. After all, Republicanism in America in the early 2000s wasn't really on the same level as it is now.
She believed they would make an "exception" for her. They didn't.
Now she doesn't have any contact with them anymore, and she's not willing to change that. Hell, since they disowned her, on paper they aren't even her parents anymore. Somewhere deep inside she's grateful for the childhood they gave her, and deeply wishes that things could've gone differently. She's never forgiven them though.
2. What events had the biggest impact on her personality?
Depends which parts of her personality honestly.
For example, every single breakup she's gone through changed her significantly. Her breakup with Aria taught her that some people can't have their minds changed, and if they don't agree with you, they won't make an exception just because you're close. It also made her more secretive about her bisexuality.
Her breakup with Mack made her a lot wiser, it further taught her that she doesn't have to force herself to tolerate people's behaviors even if she loves them, despite how hard it may seem. It helped her become at least a little less self sacrificial.
Her last breakup however made her the closed off, kind of cold person she is at the time of BBD happening. Of course, beneath all that, she loves people just as much as she always has, but she doesn't throw herself away for anyone anymore.
Fun fact that I think I actually never talked about here? Her love for children comes from a part time babysitting job she got when she broke up with her second boyfriend. She likes the blatant honesty children have.
3. Why Lane?
Fantastic question. I ask myself it every day myself.
One: Mai hates boredom, and begrudgingly, she finds Lane extremely entertaining. She finds herself naturally pulled in by him, always eager to find out what he might say next, despite just how much of it is bullshit that she wishes she never heard. He makes her laugh.
Two: Because he's not like the people who broke her heart in the past. All of her exes pretended to be good, but were actually awful. And Lane definitely is not a perfect person, far from it. But he only pretends he doesn't have a softie hiding underneath all the baggage. By being that, he already broke the pattern of abusive behavior Mai has in her mind.
Three: Forced proximity and an unfairly pretty face.
4. What is her favorite music genre and why?
ANY kind of rock. Evanescence, MCR, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Paramore, MSI (It was 2009.), Avril Lavigne, Linkin Park, Nirvana, Queen, Metallica, they're all her favorites.
The thing she likes the most about the genre (aside from it being edgy and cool and her style) is the teamwork that goes into creating it. She was a band kid in high school too after all, she wrote plenty of her own songs and loved playing them with her friends :]
5. What does she do to make herself feel better when things are rough?
Listen to music, write music, write poems and write diary entries. She knows she's fucked if Lane ever reads the notebook she keeps it all in.
She used to play piano until she was exhausted, but she doesn't have one anymore. She misses it like all hell.
And sometimes she just goes to sleep.

I own the Discord server for the Big Bad Dogs visual novel and we've recently been informed that there is a group of Russian scammers on Telegram making a profit off of making AI generated, Russian translations for multiple visual novels, even ones that already have an official Russian translation. I have wanted to contact each of the visual novel creators seperately, however some of them have their DMs closed entirely, so i figured making a public tumblr post will be a good way to bring attention to this.
Some of the visual novels they targetted include: Big Bad Dogs, The Kid at the Back, Date Everything, A Date With Death, Sirenhead Dating Sim, Bloody Painter Dating Sim.
Me and my community are trying to find a way to put a stop to their actions, however with their group operating on Telegram it's proven difficult, and they've already scammed multiple people for their money. I hope bringing attention to this issue will make them shut down this "business".

I'm currently in the middle of a pretty sudden move and I just realized the thermostat in my aquarium is broken. I can barely afford it right now, but I need to replace it before I'm supposed to move my fish tank into my temporary home in a week.
