The Common Man
Soaked in sweat, Garnished with dust, The common man works, 'cause work, he must. Who will pay his bills, If he takes a day off? That one day's salary, Is probably his payoff. He slogs like a slave, To his very own dreams! The heat doesn't bother him, Nor do the salty streams. Either sweat or tears, The man must face one. Take on all alone his fears, Company, he has none. To each his own, The men march straight ahead, All faces unknown, Yet each looks like the rest.

Tackling an Aggressive Email Client
Thunderbird, the email client in Ubuntu 12.04 is playing spam-spam with me, it marks most of my new mail as spam (understandable, it's not trained on data) then I mark it as not spam, a few seconds later, thunderbird marks it again as spam... and the game goes on!
Silence
The storm stands very still, Goosebumps, damn windchill! Skies waiting in anticipation, A little boy running uphill. Breathless, in a moment that, Would take one's breath away, Clouds part, far apart. Light percolates through. The boy raises his arms, Feeling the warmth of sunshine true. Father, bless me! He cries out loud, A token of love, Raindrops released by a cloud, He smiles and thanks, his father Who is up above in the skies Tears, masked by the raindrops cold Roll down the boy's young face. Daddy, I miss you, he says As he slowly walks away. The clouds join the boy and cry Their aqueous hearts away The storm wails and screams Throwing a tantrum each way. Then falls silence, such hurtful silence That one can hear for miles The storm dies, clouds fade The boy walks away. There's nothing left, Just a huge gaping void. In a world that Once upon a time Had the presence of dad.

Mariana Memories
Her memories, dithered, swept away, In a far, dark corner of his mind. Handed over to the neurons that, Had been consciously left behind. Disconnected from his thoughts, Cut off from his world. She wondered if only, if only, Things would've been different. It was too late already, to mend, Something that she herself had torn Detached, broken, unable to pretend, What she searched was gone, forlorn. Still he cared, yes he cared. He cared for her heart. But he was scared, very scared, To let the past re-start. He moved on, reluctant, On a journey he didn't choose. He found friends abundant, And set his mind on a muse. He found himself wanted, In the eyes of someone else. Freedom to self he granted, From her memory's shackles. She will be in his mind, From now to the grave. But she won't be on his mind, This, my friend, is the end. -hs
What will you believe?
Would it make a difference, If the world was not round? Would we float in endless space, If there was no solid ground? Or would our realities change if Our observations were wrong? Would you blindly embrace accepted truths, Facts, would you not chase them down? And would it satisfy you, Do as you are told? Or are you the friend I know, Beautiful and bold. Tell me oh tell me, What will you believe? What knowledge will you take And what legacy will you leave?

Ghost Redirects in Django...
What happens when you add a redirect to django urlconf, and later remove it? The browser, keeps redirecting without acknowledging the change in your urlconf! The solution is quite simple, but when in the middle of a deployment marathon, you might just overlook the simplest solution... clear the browser's cache!
Well... I made that mistake of hunting for a difficult solution when answer was obvious, so instead of hiding the fact - let me put it out here, so I'll remember it even better if I encounter a similar problem again ;)
Cheers! Keep calm and hack on!
Shifting to Ubuntu.
After having used MacOSX for a while, and dreading switching to Lion and it's successors for their diversion from *NIX way of working... I have been contemplating to switch back to my first love of an OS - FreeBSD. It might happen sometime in the future - but right now, I need to get an operational system up and running in little time - simply because the disk with MacOSX crashed a few hours ago and I have deadlines to meet.
No time to set up FreeBSD with it's idiosyncrasies and tweaks. Especially access to hfs+, at least linux gives read-only support out of the box, also quick access to dropbox that our team uses a lot. Also, Ubuntu works with the iPhone - for syncing music, I'm not sure about FreeBSD, and don't have time to find out in the next 10 minutes - within with Linux will get installed.
So Ubuntu 10.04 it is. I cannot stand the new UI on Ubuntu, 10.04 is where my love ends for it. Let's see if I end up using Ubuntu long enough or gravitate towards FreeBSD eventually ;)
Alright, looks like we're ready to reboot into the OS! Good luck to the code!
NOT something I want to see in the middle of the night. No. No. No! *sigh*

Aar ya paar…
Quite enjoying the rush of coding for the joy of it, and also because I have a deadline. Making full use of the resources that Mumbai city provides… calling for dinner at midnight ;-) While I wait for dinner, I'm having coffee in decent amounts and biting into a variety of fruits I purchased earlier in the day. Have decided to stay awake till I code something worth showing and putting up on the server. Aaj… aar ya paar!
Also, getting into the habit of slightly longer posts than 140 char tweets ;)
This, if I sustain, should be good for the blog!
Watching you...
