it’s always funny to me that whites can sit in their little history classes and learn about the civil rights movement and be like “wow these people were so brave! the police and other white people were so evil back then :(” but then sit here today and call the baltimore protesters or the ferguson protesters “animals” for doing literally the same thing. Like you are the “racist white people” now. You are the the ones you deny affiliation with while reading those lessons. whites are so good at detaching themselves from their own white supremacy and erasing their crimes.

She just set so many more women up for the “How do you we know you’re not accusing him for attention” response. You know how many women will never press charges because of her actions. For real, white girls do too much.

guys what the fuck NO. she brought the claim to the cops, they shot her down, she figured she could set an example. there’s nothing in ANY of these articles that says she “cried rape” for this project - she WAS raped, she DID report it, and she used her experience as a victim that received no recognition AS such for her thesis. this fucker still raped her. he still wasn’t charged and received no punishment from the university. it wasn’t for an art project, she literally used her experience for school. don’t say this and make it as if she wasn’t assaulted. she’s set other women up for nothing. shame on all of you.

Yeah, and I sent “flirty” and probably damning messages to my rapist as well. We had consensual sex for a few months prior to my sexual assault. Talk about damning!! But the way he made sure to degrade me, always make me feel like he was stronger than me, grab my face, choke me against my will- none of that could be proven. Just told. I continued to be “friends” with my rapist afterward because I just wanted to pretend like it never happened. Then I realized it was wrong and reported him to the police, and then nothing happened. There wasn’t enough evidence. He’s free to this day, and I know he’s assaulted and abused more women, women who have probably sent him “damning” text messages as well. I don’t care if she joked about “butt stuff” with him beforehand- it still doesn’t make a sexual assault okay, and cases like hers and mine are ignored because they fall into such a grey area that lacks hard evidence and only has “damning” facts and people just brush us off as victims. Jian Ghomeshi also filed a lawsuit against the CBC when he was accused of rape. The defendant filing a lawsuit means NOTHING.
