Bonding

Rick got in himself, looking in between the ferret and the girl at the mention of handing him over. âMmâd-dunno if thatâs such a good idea. I mean, I have two arms.â There was a silence that filled the air. âWhat? This robot arm counts as two more, if anything.â He defended but still complied, handing the small animal over before pressing his hand to a screen on the panel which read his DNA before starting up.Â
With a set of the coordinates, the ship hovered into the air and pushed itâs way through a portal the extension on the top of the craft had created just before them. Upon reaching the other side, both of them would find themselves hovering high above a busy looking town on a red dusty planet below. Naturally, itâs inhabitants were all alien like creatures, most of them somewhat the same species. Rick wasnât even sure ferret food was sold on this particular planet but perhaps he could have been wrong. He was quick to land the vehicle in a more secluded area so much as to not have it takenânot that it would. He had all but enhanced itâs security features just in case one were to try.
âHere we are! The best place in the multi-verse to grab goods.â He pushed the door open and hopped out, taking in the air with a smile which in turn, made him cough. Damn dusty air.Â
Robin rolled her eyes before opening the door and getting out. She placed the ferret on her seat, making sure to tuck Iâm in safely so he wouldnât roll onto the floor. The girl leaned forward and kissed the top of his head before gently closing the door.
She walked over to Rick with crossed arms. âIâm going to be very clear with what we NEED to get just in case you decide to wander off and buy alcohol. We need baby formula and bottles for Leeroy along with some baby blankets and ferret food. Itâs very very important that we make sure heâs strong and healthy before we begin feeding him hard dried food.â Her tone came off as patronizing but she didnât care. The life and safety of this animal was far more important to her than Ricksâs feelings.
Rick cleared his throat after hacking up the last of the dust that had filled his lungs, patting down on his chest with a fist before shooting Robin a half-assed glare. What a know it all. âOkay, mom.â He rolled his eyes, beginning to head towards the entrance of the large civilization before themâto the boardwalk where all of the shops and goods could be seen from what one would describe as glass windows. Who knew what it was really made of.
âA-Alcohol is kind of a necessity too. Itâs mah juiceâg-getâs me through the day.â He told her. He came to a stop in front of a large department store with a name labeled over a sign that hung from the top, reading something in a different language. Luckily he had brought along his translator so they didnât wind up picking up the wrong thing.
"Well I need things to help me get through the day too but you don't seem to care about that and I'm surviving without them." Really what she missed most was smoking and listening to music, one of the few things that relaxed her. Of course that was something she liked to do by herself, which was impossible to achieved seeing as how she was stuck with him.
She was aware that she sounded like a mom, but Robin was burdened with all the responsibility because she simply didn't trust him. Well...she did a little after seeing him react so positively to Leeroy.
