I feel that way about these works too (except Kissing Booth, because only the first film exists in my eyes) but also and especially, I feel that way about The Summer I Turned Pretty and Twilight. That Belly and Bella end up with Conrad and Edward instead of Jeremiah and Jacob is just unbearable to the highest degree. More specifically Belly & Jeremiah not ending up together traumatized me to the point that I am writing my own book series (in 4 volumes) where the heroine does not end up with her first love / crush (who is generally in all these stories quite immature and not a reflection of what true love is supposed to be in the end)...
