Teddy frowns over at her for a moment before shaking his head, trying to relax. It’s not Kate’s fault, he knows she’s just trying to help. “I know. It’s.. mostly old stuff, from before -” He doesn’t finish his sentence, peering into the box instead and just as he’d thought it’s full of things from before his mom died. “Just.. stuff I didn’t wanna have around the apartment, that’s all.”

“Oh.” Kate didn’t know how to react. Everyone grieves differently, and her mom’s death had mostly been tainted by suspicion of her father. Teddy didn’t have something like that to focus on instead, so she couldn’t really understand what he was going through. “Do you want to go through them?” she asked tentatively. “It might help.”

Felicia frowned hearing her friend comment. “So you are able to not drink coffee anymore and you can sleep? Oh,please tell me how did you get this?”she asked joking and giggle. “I’m inviting you to eat something,doesn’t need to be coffee”she explained. She wide her eyes surprise. “Of course I’m still offering. I’m surprised that you accept it because of the Hawkeye Investigations”she replied and smiling hugging her friend next. “I’m so happy that you accept my offer! I would love to have you around here”she added smiling wide. She nodded. “So did you liked the gym? I mean it’ not a big deal but…”.

“Well then I accept,” she said with a wide smile on her face. “Business is a bit slow for us at the moment, and we need something a bit more stable to help pay the rent,” she explained. They hadn’t had a new case in two weeks, and funds were starting to dry up. “Yeah, the gym is great. It’s cute, which is almost weird to say, but it’s very you, and you are very cute,” she joked.

LL: And honestly, I don’t care if she wants nothing to do with me after this. I’m not in this to try to woo her or anything.

LL: I’m not stupid.

KB: ? Boy if you aren't trying to win her over why did you start this conversation with "how do you court someone???"

“You did earned a belt. But not with me. You are already a good kickass and I think they noticed you did some martial arts”Felicia said joking and giggle. “Yes,I know you can. You are kinda humiliating them right now”she whispered joking and giggle.  She giggle at her friends joke. “You drink coffee at night?”she joked giggling. “So what brings you here,Kate? Thinking about my job offer?”.

She laughed a bit as she packed her equipment into her bag. “Felicia, beleive me when I say I don’t even feel the effects of coffee these days. I don’t need to worry about it affecting my sleep.” She nodded at the next part, looking a bit meek before adding, “If you’re still offering, that is. Plus, I wanted to check out my friend’s job.”

“I mean, I figured when you didn’t get the invite to my funeral you’d figure it out. You’re smart. You knew I wasn’t dead or anything. If you didn’t…surprise!” 

Tommy let her inside and closed the door before heading back to the couch where he’d obviously been piled up. Lounging was not his favorite activity in the world, but when he did it he went hard. Thierry’s single sad blanket and couple of pillows had been replaced by a veritable mountain of things that Tommy could almost disappear into. He kicked a couple of them toward the last cushion so she could sit down. 

“Mystery beau, huh? That makes it sound way more interesting.” He’d not exactly been keeping Thierry a secret. 

“Oh shit, really? I thought you were a ghost,” she snarked back.

She plopped down on his couch, making herself at home. “So what are we watching?” she asked, shifting some pillows to make room for them both. 

“And I see you are not taking the opportunity to expand on that,” she said pointedly. “I’m just going on hear-say right now, I want facts.” She was aware she was pouting, but she was going to get what she wanted out of him.

“Of course.” Laura’s healing factor took care of any injuries she might sustain during combat. She shook her head at the apology. “What was the mission?” She wouldn’t have asked if she weren’t part of the team; she wouldn’t consider it her business. The mention of Tim also peaked her interest - though she wasn’t sure why.

“Some thing with the League of Assassins. I honestly thought there would be more to it, but it almost seemed like their creepy leader just wanted attention,” he said, scrunching her nose up in disgust. She kept it a bit vague, because it had seemed a lot more personal when Creepy McZombie had called Tim about by name, something even Kate hadn’t known.

“I’m used to snow I’m not so used to walk in snow. Is pretty hard for me yet,ok?”Alison said joking and giggle. “I mean how you guys can walk in this?”she asked pushing her legs struggling a bit while doing it. She nodded with more enthusiasm. “Oh,I liked this”she said laying in the snow. “I hope I just don’t get an flu before my show”.

“Years of practice,” Kate joked as she flopped down on the ground. “It helps to wear sensible shoes too. Sometimes you have to give up fashion for practicality,” she teased. “We can get coffee after this to warm back up. And maybe some pancakes too.”

As if on cue, Laura caught up to Kate the moment she took off her earphones. She frowned and looked her over, her hands in her pockets. “You’re okay.” It was more a statement than a question. Even though she hadn’t seen her at the scene of the kidnappings, by now Laura had learned that the entire city had been caught up in various incidences. 

“You’re okay too,” she replied with a smile. Not that it had really been a question in her mind, given Laura’s healing factor. Still, it was good to see her whole and hale. “Sorry I haven’t been in touch, our grand new leader decided to take me away for a mission across the world. If it wasn’t so fun I’d almost be offended he assumed I had nothing going on.”

“What did you find? What -” Teddy can see the photos she’s digging through, but it’s not until he sits down beside Kate that he can see what the photos actually are and he can’t help but freeze. “Wait - where did you find these?” He frowns as he reaches for some of the photos, his hand shaking a little. His mom would’ve had to take these, and considering she’s gone - considering how she died, he hasn’t looked at them in a while. Which apparently meant losing track of where they even were.

The teasing tone faded from her voice as she realized how serious he was about this. “I was just going through some old boxes of yours,” she said. “You have a few that aren’t even unpacked, you know?” She pushed the cardboard box towards him, letting him see for himself.

“Teacher? You are keep caling me it when you and me know each other since I was a teenage?”Felicia asked joking and giggle. “You don’t even need to be in here,sweetpie. You are just here to show the others how badass you are?”she asked again and giggle grabbing her bag. “You’re doing great. Come on is evening coffee time”.

“Well I don’t want these students to think I didn’t earn my belt,” she said with a grin. “I may not know all the proper sequences but I can still kick their ass any day.” She was still thinking over Felicia’s offer of a job, and had wanted to check out her friend’s gym. She wiped the sweat off her head and took off her bracer. “I think I want something a little colder than coffee tonight,” she joked.

KB: I think the Joker is very creative and I don't want to have you suffer through whatever punishment comes out of that fucked up mind

Kate pinned the guy to the mat easily. Even with Felicia training them, she had years of experience on them. He tapped out quickly and she let him up. “So teach, what do you think?” she asked cheekily, grinning up at Felicia.

“Ugh. Calm down,Kate! I can’t even walk on this properly,I’m not used to walk on the snow”Alison said trying to follow her friend while struggling walking in the snow. She nodded. “Since you call I enjoyed it,Kate”she replied. “Ok. I’m here. What do we do? Snowman?”

Kate stilled, but she was stilling practically vibrating in enthusiasm. “Well we need to get you used to it then,” she laughed. “I doubt there’s enough for a proper snowman, but we can make snow angels!”

Tommy couldn’t remember giving Kate the address to that apartment, but he’d given it to Noh and been drunk more than once recently so anything was possible. Best not to ask questions.

Thierry’s cat (their cat, technically) raised his head when Tommy opened the door. He was lounging on one of the barstools, looking very skeptical about having a visitor. How anything could manage to look skeptical with one eye, he didn’t know, but Jekyll pulled it off.

“Like she needs any help being disappointed,” Tommy said as soon as he saw Kate. 

She gave a satisfied grin when he opened the door, crossing her arms and trying to pretend she was mad. “And here I thought super speed meant you could make time to let all your friends know you’re okay,” she said, her stern words contradicting the smile on her face.

“And please, Wanda loves you. She’s just worried you inherited the family crazy gene.”

She looked past him, into the apartment. “Nice place you and your mystery beau got here.”
