I’m Jamie Byers I’m 12 years old well almost but it’s practically the same thing right?
I’ve heard from people that keeping a diary can help you process your emotions especially in scary situations where you have no idea what’s even going on anymore.
Um I recently found out that my father was married to another woman before I was born and apparently I have two half brothers named Johnathan and Will.
Things have been confusing but i think im finally in the right place both literally and metaphorically

I’m currently in eighth grade and am the so called “shrimp” of my class :((
My favourite subject is maths because no matter where you go maths will always be the same, I’d like to think it’s one of the things in my life that will never change because 11 x 12 is 121 on all seven continents.
I really like Vashti Bunyan her voice comforts me when I get too nervous or when things turn vio- loud

Jamie Byers lore
-James “Jamie” Byers is the product of an affair that Lonnie had in 1975 with 21 year old waitress Judith Holloway.
-Lonnie kept his existence a secret from his ex wife and children although he would visit little Jamie once or twice a month on “work trips”
-His mother was mostly absent from his life as she was working two-three jobs to support Jamie and herself.she tried her best to be their for him and one of the activities the two bonded over was reading books together Jamie’s favourite story was Charlottes web.
-He’s been living with Lonnie since his mother died in a car accident in 1982
-Lonnie believed that he could “save” Jamie from turning out like Johnathan and Will seeing the boy as a blank slate to start over on.
-Jamie had a fear of disappointing and upsetting his father so he’d pretend to like hunting baseball and other masculine activities if it meant his father’s happiness.
-Like all Byers kids he has his own fair share of trauma
-His father saw his academic potential and convinced Jamie that the only way to be successful was to get a well paying job such as a lawyer,doctor or scientist but being an overachiever craving his fathers approval Jamie wanted to become the future president of the USA and become a Harvard graduate
-Jamie has skipped two grades (second and fifth grade) and was an eight grader in 1986
-Grew up horrified of getting below an a- on tests
-Spring of 1986 he received his report card and found out his grades had been slipping. Afraid of disappointing his father he did the only logical thing he could think of and ran away to a town where he’s only visited once for the small chance of meeting his fathers ex wife and his half brothers.
-He arrived in Hawkins during the “earth quake” and is able to wander around where ever without drawing any suspicion.
-He has gotten himself into more than he bargained for.

Storyline (to be continued)
-Briefly appeared in season 1 when Lonnie went to Wills funeral because he couldn’t find a baby sitter although Jamie was too young to process what was actually going on. It wasn’t until three years later when he realised that Joyce was his father’s ex wife and her children were his half siblings.
-Arrives in Hawkins during season 4 following the events of the “earth quake”
-May or may not be targeted by Vecna because in season 5 he’s the same age Will was when he was taken to the upside down.

-Claims he’s a year older than actually is to seem more mature and cool
-His middle name is Anthony
-His favourite colour is green
-His favourite candies are plain m&ms and the strawberry cream Chupa Chups lollipop while his favourite fruit is strawberry.
-His favourite song is the train song by Vashti Bunyan if he ever got Vecnad I’d like to think that would be the song that brings him out of his trance.
-Has a very good memory
-Can be annoying at times if he lived in the 2020s he’d be one of those brainrotted Gen alphas who say “erm what the sigma”
-Very impulsive person “oh no I got a d- on my report card I guess it’s time to runaway to a place I’ve only been too once because my child self viewed it as a comforting place”
-Now that he’s reached Hawkins he genuinely doesn’t know what to do, he’s feeling anxious about meeting his older half brothers and their mom, he feels guilty over being the product of an affair.
-People are too caught up in the aftermath of the “earth quake” to notice that a little kid ran away from home and is currently loitering by Hawkins library.
-The only people in Hawkins he’s met are Joyce and Johnathan he was intimidated by Johnathan at first although he warmed up to him, he was fascinated by Joyce and was envious of Johnathan for having her as a mother.
