Tyler L: are you going to Sandy McKibben's end of summer bonfire this weekend?
Caroline F: Probably. She'll hate it and that's the best part. Are you?
Caroline: Why didn’t you say good-bye? You just left. Tyler: You want to talk about this now? Caroline: Well, if we’re going to die, I might as well know the truth. Why did you leave me?

“I suppose it is. Not that I’m worrying too much about the waistline at the moment and neither should you.” Did the mom gene just appear when she got pregnant? It seemed as if she was always offering advice. “I’d say you have nothing to worry about but I was always the same in art school. I was always wrong, of course. If your vision is clear to you, then have faith in it. I’m sure they will see what you are going for.”
Caroline peeked down at the woman’s robust tummy. She looked like she had swallowed a basketball but it suited her. Some people couldn’t pull off the pregnant belly. There was just something so cute about Evelyn. “Well that’s very sweet of you to say.” It’s also very true. Vampires don’t gain weight. “I just want to separate myself from the rest of the world. I want to be different.”
Matt shrugged. “Sometimes it feels like people think I am.” He tried to shake the dark thoughts. This wasn’t really the moment to have them or anything. He was just talking to a girl who could have been a friend. Maybe. “I’m afraid I’m a hopeless case.” Matt smiled. “But yeah, I kinda got my girlfriend while wearing a tux, so I guess I did that one thing right.” He bent his head and thought about that evening. Jennifer had been the one pushing him towards her. He shook his head again. “She’s…alive…” It was the best word to describe her. “She feels like…everything and she makes me want to live, want to get somewhere.” He swallowed. “She makes me laugh even when I don’t feel like laughing.”
“No one’s hopeless, Matt. At least not when they have friends like me.” Caroline beamed. His situation wasn’t the best but she wasn’t going to abandon him. Not like everyone else abandoned her. “See! Fashion is the best kind of wingman. Who wants a man who looks like hot trash? No one.” Caroline slightly envied the boundless glee that came from Matt’s sheer thought of the mystery girl. Is that what it felt like to love someone without the fear of fate fucking it all up. “That’s really good, Matt. You deserve to feel that way.”
The Vampire Diaries Appreciation Week 2016 ♡ day 1 • favourite character → Caroline Forbes “I’m not girly little Caroline anymore, I can handle myself”
Damon: I know. It’s part of my charm Damon: As far as I know at home Damon: Or in school
Care: You should work on that so called charm. ALSO you text me to watch her but you don’t have any idea where she is. You’re no help. I’ll figure it out.
Gia rolled her eyes with great affection, shaking her head. She didn’t have even remotely the eye or care for fashion that Caroline did, but she loved that about her. They were very different. And that was nice.
“Oh, you know me, work work work.” She took another bite of the pie and sighed a little. “Honestly, I’m starting to think I’d like a vacation. What about you?”
“You’re going to work yourself to death and where would I be without you, mmh?” Caroline cocked her head to the side. She plucked another piece of pie and popped it into her mouth. “A vacation sounds amazing right now. Where were you thinking?”
“You know,” He started with a shake of his head, suddenly regretting his decision to come at all. “I remember you being a lot less bitchy. Then again, when compared to Lydia everyone else is practically a saint.”
Caroline bristled with an unease with his comment. “You’re right she’s a big ole ginger bitch.” Her expression soured for a moment at the venom that poisoned her lips. “Is everything okay? I know you like the verbal abuse but your message seemed urgent and I am not a bitch. I am just not here to used like some side chick. Not my style.”
“I wouldn’t have given you the pie if I thought it wasn’t fine.” Bonnie said with a small laugh, looping her towel through the string of her apron as she pulled out the chair and sat down. “-I’ve got half an hour for lunch, but if things don’t pick up, I might be able to scrounge up an extra fifteen minutes or so.”
“So, sit that beautiful behind down, and spend the next forty five minutes me then.” Caroline nudged the chair out in front of her with her toe for the girl to sit. “And for the record, you wouldn’t deny me the pie, even if it weren’t fine.”
