Liv says that they can’t risk it. Caroline rushes to snap Luke’s neck, killing him to Liv’s horror. [Caption: gifs from The Vampire Diaries. Caroline and Liz are alone at the Grill, face to face, both aware that Caroline is a vampire and Liz already knows about it. Caroline talks, while Liz looks overwhelmed, near tears. Caroline tells her she "explained [the supernatural] to [Liz] once", but she had to compel her to forget because she was scared of what Liz might do about it. Caroline starts walking towards Liz, who stays in place but leans her body away. Caroline tells her she doesn't want to lie, and states that she's not going to be afraid of Liz anymore. Caroline grabs Liz's closed fist and holds it in her hands, saying she doesn't want Liz to be afraid of her either. Liz shakes her head imperceptibly, holding back tears and a sob; Caroine tells her, her voice cracking, "I'm still your little girl. It's me.", hugging Liz. She repeats "It's me. Mom?", and Liz finally hugs back, crying on Caroline's shoulder, who smiles with relief and hugs her tight.]

"I made a list... of all the things that I've done since I fell for you. It started last summer when you moved away. I started obsessing over where you were, wondering why you weren't returning my calls. I told you I hated you when I felt ignored, missing my mom's final moments because I was kissing you. and then she died... Stefan, with a pleading demeanor, says that it's because she's a control freak who lost control: that he feels the same way around her, because that's what falling for someone is: being vulnerable, losing control. During his speech he's joined his hand with her on her lap; Caroline looks down and smiles, caressing his hand with her other one. She says "I know..." but that where she is in her life, with the guilt and grief, control is all she has, and she's not ready to give that up. Caroline stands up, and walks away.]

Caroline, rushes to grab Stefan, ordering him to show her the vision of her mother again, saying she wants to see her and needs to know what she said in the later. Stefan, pained, resting against the window, remorsefully tells her he already gave her the letter. Caroline, distressed, repeats “No.”, rushing to the letters ashes, while Stefan looks at her with compassion, tearfully. Caroline, choked up, asks what is it he thinks Liz wanted to tell her, ,and Stefan replies that whatever it was, is gone. Caroline starts sobbing, collapsing on the floor, saying she “did this”, that it’s all her fault. As her emotions come back in, she frantically lists the worst of the recent events (“I tried to kill you. And then I made you turn it off. And then we- Oh, my God!”), covering her face with her hands in despair. Stefan tells her “it’s okay” trying to comfort her; she apologises, and starts saying “I ruined everything, I ruined everything.”, sobbing.]

[Caption: gifs from The Vampire Diaries. They show a memory between Stefan and Liz, with potent light and a dream-like quality, that he puts in Caroline’s head. After Liz has walked him out of the door, Caroline rushes towards it, having it closed in front of her face while she tells her mother to wait. Liz can’t hear her, and walks away holding a letter she’s written for Caroline, to reach her after Liz’s death. From the other side of the glass on her door, partially covered by the lace curtains, Caroline tries to make Liz hear her, frantically telling her that it’s Caroline, to just come outside, that she wants to talk to her, while Liz walks further into the house. Caroline smiles as she sobs, saying she wants to read Liz’s letter, and continues to beg her to open the door, to come back. She turns around and, now talking to Stefan, orders him to “Make her come back.”, and the scene fades to white.]

“When did you turn it back?”

[Caption: gifs from The Vampire Diaries. Caroline, looking pale and exhausted from blood loss, stands in front of Stefan while he sits on the bed, in the bed and breakfast’s room. She wraps her jacket around his shoulders, pulling on it, and asks “What’s wrong? What, you don’t wanna take advantage of me? You don’t wanna ruin our non-existent relationship?” in a mocking tone. During her questions she gets closer to Stefan, invading his space; he’s averted his eyes, until he looks straight up at her and says “Please, stop.” Caroline gets on eye level with him and tells him to relax, saying she doesn’t “really feel like kissing anymore” in an airy tone. Then she quickly uses her jacket to snap his neck, making him fall unconscious on the blood-stained bed. She walks away after throwing him a smug, derisive look, puts on her jacket, and starts making great effort to kick down the reinforced door. Once she manages, she walks away decisevily, in slow motion. Later it’s discovered this scene is the result of Stefan using his powers to get inside Caroline’s head.]

So that leaves Elena, who totally has the sympathy vote since her parents died. How can I compete with that?
