Why does Charles have scars/blisters in his hands?

not sure if this was sent for a joke answer or a sincere one but here’s a sincere one (under the cut for i guess… mild spoilers? idk if it counts as a spoiler but trigger warning maybe?)

it’s shown pretty early on in hc3 (i think early on, anyway. i know its somewhere in hc3) charles has a really bad phobia of germs (i think vincent does too but i can’t remember. i know charles still had the phobia in his vincent vessels) and he washed his hands so often and so harshly that it gave him a lot of little cuts and blisters. also trigger warning but he is really depressed especially by the end of the game so it could be some form of self harm? but i’m probably wrong about that one i think it’s just the phobia of germs. i hope i’m wrong anyways

No the 8/8 = vote bit wasn't intentional at first lol, I chose it cause 8 looks like a vertical infinity symbol- Charlotte's story repeats itself with variations in The House. BUT Considering how a theme for some Charlottes is eating ( Devouring the world in Ep2, Delerium Charlotte's fixation on meat and eating things, a few other instances I can't quite recall), it's kinda fitting.
