never could willow have imagined them spending time together again. but the past few weeks had been going so great for the two of them that she was starting to believe that m a y b e this could work out. her smile never leaving her lips she nodded at his question, reaching for his hand before saying “let’s go?” as they were seeing each other more and more often she had found herself realizing how much she had missed him. yet she was still being careful not only for her own good, but for his as well. especially for him. 

no words could describe how grateful heath was for another chance from willow; he’d spent years in recovery for her and to see all his effort finally pay off took a large weight off his shoulders. he gladly took the younger’s hand in his free one before setting the two in motion toward his car, “ benny’s sound okay? ”

Working on vehicles throughout his youth had its perks, though he’d never used his skills to break into a car that wasn’t his own – this was easy enough. there wasn’t a REASONABLE answer heath could give and trying to bullshit his way through the conversation would only lead nowhere, so he instead replied with a shrug of his shoulders. “ god, i wish i knew. ” a sigh matching that of ed’s escaped the younger, sweaty palms wiped off on khakis. “ just ONE OF THOSE DAYS, y’know? thank you so much, let me, uh- give you somethin’, ” thought came to a halt as he reached for the wallet in his back pocket, feeling the need to compensate the older for his assistance.

it was the end of the school day and willow had managed to free her afternoon to surprise heath. the petite woman had the impression that he was putting a lot more into this than she was and she wanted to show him that she was going to work on them just as much as he was. so when she waited outside the school for him to come out, hoping not to be a bad surprise. after seeing countless children pass her, she finally noticed the familiar figure of their teacher. “Surprise?” she said with a hint of a smile on her lips. 

heath loved working with kids, sure, but they certainly wore him out. messenger bag slung over his shoulder and dark locks a disheveled mess, the lanky man followed after his students as they tumbled out the doors of the preschool. a strained expression stretched across tanned features until willow came into view, a smile taking its place. “ my favorite kind of surprise, ” bending down he placed a small kiss to the top of her head, “ do you – do you wanna grab somethin’ to eat? ”
