             for as wild as he was, suigetsu was a closed off person. he had a way of telling people something and it lets them think they know his whole story; but in reality they only see what suigetsu wants them to see. a hum, and he raises the glass to his lips, taking a long sip. “got news for ya honey– i don’t let anyone in without intentions of keepin’ their asses around.”

          he’s halfway tempted to say you; but he figures that the only thing he will get is a gun shoved into his face. sasuke seems that kind of cranky after all. he’s all teeth when he looks at his partner, and decides, what the hell, he always liked a little danger anyways, “the fuck ya think i want?”

            well that’s disappointing. lips pucker towards the other, pulling out into a fake pout, “why sasuke— you’re no fun. don’t ya know that the best way to make yourself happy is bathing in someone elses blood?” a hand waves, “but fine, i guess if i gotta be on my best behavior i will be.”

       “well, yah?” a quirk of his lips even though, suigetsu knows it’s wrong. that, in fact, sasuke’s department should be called first (despite being his partner. suigetsu was still DEA and not FBI.) “i mean, who else can handle a blood bath/ dead body scene better than me?”

               “well that’s because you need’ta put that special eye away and see things from a normal point of view.” which, in suigetsu’s opinion, which he would later go on to voice, unabrashed and loud, “if ya ask me, sasuke, yer gonna get eye problems from using that eye and then guess who’s gonna be right there having to lead your dumbass blind self? me. and i got some swords to collect; i can’t be babysittin’ ya ass.”

         “hidin’s for pussies,” a hand comes up to rest on the wall of his tank, and dare he say that he’s grown somewhat fond of the boy? which sucks, because suigetsu’s gonna get outta here, get out of this place, and the boy is probably gonna end up staying here. (maybe he can invite him along? but that’s dead weight. suigetsu knows now that the other is blind, unlike in their first meeting where he made a complete fuckin’ ass of himself). “what ya wanna do kid, is get up and fight. fight to live.” then again, this was the same boy who hid when orochimaru came around. he really had no room to talk after all.

          out of all the worlds cruelest men; of all the superhuman shinobi that suigetsu’s seen; orochimaru is the worst. especially when he says shit like this and two hands come up, “e-eh— orochimaru-sama, listen!! you’re beautiful enough, don’t you think that the goddess can wait– or you know you can find a different sacrifice?” because there was no way in hell was suigetsu was going to let the other sacrifice him. not today, buddy. not today.

            he listens with genuine intrigue to the man’s words  –  there  was  something  else to friendships?             something  different  lay  beyond  this  village  than  he had known? and for the first time, he feels             something strange twisting in his stomach  –  something  that  made him want to know what was             out there.  what  had  he  been  kept  from,  holed  up  in  one  village  his whole life. he had never             wondered,  never  been  curious  of  what  he  was  missing.  and for just a moment, karasu felt a             sense of incomplete in his life. 

            ‘no,  i  don’t.  but  she’s  not  like  me  –  i’ve  always  been  an  experiment.  for  as  long  as  i can             remember.’ he explains, as if it was the most normal thing in the world. and to him, it was. no one             had  ever told  him it was wrong to be put through the things he’d been through. that he held any             worth or sense of self. his only identity lay with him on those examination tables.

           “what do you mean that she’s not like you? she seems more stupid.” the insult rolls off his tongue, easily. and he thinks about how he hates her. with every inch of his being; every fiber of himself. she’s the one that keeps him here; locked up like some animal. something to be poke and prodded at her will; something to be shown off for that leader of hers-- no theirs.  there’s no way this guy is going to let him out; no way that he’ll let suigetsu free. amethyst eyes narrow in thought-- he could take a run for it; and he probably would if he was let out. suigetsu is no fool; he knows that that red-headed bitch will be back soon to check on his tank.  the lie slips off his tongue easily; “of course. hell, i’d even show it to ya.”
