Brussels attacks and the Cosmic Perspective
In my bedroom beside my bed, hangs a poster that has the entire famous Pale Blue Dot speech. If youāre unfamiliar with it please watch it before reading.Ā
I wake up to this poster and go to bed to this poster every day. To remind myself of who I am in the grand scheme of the universe. Itās not to make myself feel small, as some believe, instead it makes me feel better about who I am and how I treat others.
Astronomy is something that for me gave me such an awakening to work in which we live in and how important it is for us as a race to come together and value ourselves and the world we live in.
Today, 34 people (the current count) lost their lives because of some peoples selfish acts of cowardice. These people, These cowards, are sick and selfish. They believe in hatred and separation of themselves from all of us. There will always be extremists, but it is so important for us to stop believing that we are so special. We are so privileged that we must do the bidding of a deity to be rewarded, using religion as an excuse to commit these atrocities . We are all in this together. We are all one. I beg every one of you to spend today thinking about your judgements for others based on their beliefs, their skin color, their gender catch yourselves in your judgements and rise above them.

I apologize for using this blog to promote my ideas of life and how we treat each other, however I have over 5,000 followers now and felt the need to say something, anything, about how these attacks make me feel and how I wish we all could live together as one. Oh the things we would accomplishā¦
