HIATUS STARTING TODAY – MAY 09 2017.

i meant to make a post the other day but it slipped my mind. and i’d hate to do this to y’all, but unfortunately i have to announce a hiatus on here, on @heathencries and on @n-ice-shot. i’m starting to spiral back into a dark place and i’m not saying this asking for sympathy, i’m saying this because i really need to stay away from things like tumblr drama if i want to take care of myself. it’s part of why i stopped running a discourse personal blog which is now just a safe haven for shippers (which you are free to follow me on, here’s the link). tumblr can be a pretty negative place and i don’t need more negativity with where i am right now. 

you’re free to add me on discord and skype which i’ll provide under the cut (just tell me who you are!) and if we’re mutuals you can ask me for my number where i am easier to reach by honestly. thanks for understanding, and i’ll return once i feel 100% again!

Kuro hissed when Shiro moved his hand ever so slightly away. Now that just wasn’t fair. Just when things were beginning to spice up, Shiro had to ruin the moment. He wanted this so bad...and he was going to get it one way or another, even if it meant enduring a lot of teasing from the other. 

“God, please,” he whimpered, clawing at Shiro a bit. “Please let me...”

“I’m sorry, Keith. It...was out in the open and I got curious. I didn’t know it was your journal until I started reading, and I couldn’t stop...”

It still wasn’t a valid excuse, but Shiro tried anyway. He still wasn’t over what he had seen in that journal. All that anger, all that self-hatred...he wished he was there for Keith during those times. But he didn’t know him as a teenager. He knew him now, though, and perhaps he could find a way to make up for his past. 

“Do you really believe you’re that ugly?” he asked again, taking a few careful steps toward the red paladin. “Because I can honestly tell you right now that you’re far from that.”

Shiro’s Mental Illness: In-Canon Symptoms

Just a run-down of Shiro’s major symptoms of mental illness as portrayed in the show, for reference purposes.

1. Panic Attacks

1x09 - Crystal Venom. This is a panic attack:

Notice how Shiro’s reaction to Sendak is to irrationally flush him out of the ship; Sendak is triggering the panic attack, and Shiro reacts instinctively to remove the trigger:

And you can clearly see the panic on his face afterwards:

1x01 - Pilot. Shiro’s reaction to being strapped to the table in the Galaxy Garrison is another example of panic:

Which makes sense in light of his nightmare in 2x03 - Shiro’s Escape, where we see him strapped to a table in Galra captivity:

Being strapped down is triggering Shiro’s panic; it reminds him of being in Galra captivity, and his instinctive response is stress/panic/fear/anxiety.

“Honesty! I give you pleasure people could only ever dream of and this is how you respond to me?” murmured Kuro against his neck as he continued to bite onto it. He didn’t know what else to expect, though; Keith was always against him, always ready to pin the blame on him whenever things went wrong with the group. It would take a little more coaxing to get Keith to give into his desires. 

Kuro knew how Keith really felt about him. The way he was treating him all of this time was just overcompensation. Keith wanted Kuro to do this to him for only God knew how long. 

His grip tightened around the slim one’s waist as he pressed his lips harder against his neck. He was going to make him feel a million things if he would just cooperate.

“Sure, you can’t,” he retorted, trying to ignore the fingers ghosting over his chest and the growing urge to squirm at the touch, as he grasped Kuro’s forearms to tug his hands down. “Yeah, sure, I am. Have another excuse you wanna try out?”

What I just said just isn’t enough for you, is it?” he chuckled, burying his lips into the side of his neck and kissing him hard there, before nibbling the spot a bit. He reluctantly moved away to pull his shirt over his head and take it completely off. 

“God, you’re beautiful. There’s so many things I’d love to do to you right now.”

Sometimes just letting Kuro go on his monologue seemed like the best thing to do. It got it out of his system (and moved the topic along), provided info they may not have known, and he sometimes let something slip that he didn’t mean to, like right now. While it was good to know that Kuro was made from magic and that Altean and presumably Galran tech had nothing on him, having it confirmed that Keith was involved in Kuro’s good behavior was the biggie. But the question now was whether Keith was aware of it or if there was something else going on behind scenes with the two of them that they weren’t aware of. 

Pidge wasn’t sure if Kuro would answer any of her questions, but it was worth a try. “What exactly is going on between you and Keith? You seem to be pretty focused on him.” And that was something Shiro would not be happy to know about, not that knowing Kuro was still around was much better. Both were probably equally alarming for the Black Paladin.

Kuro stopped dead in his tracks. 

Now what was he supposed to say in response to that? ‘Oh, nothing, gremlin, just the fact that I’ve fallen hard in love with Pretty Red and I can’t seem to do anything to stop it.’ ‘Oh, nothing, we’re just shamelessly fucking in our spare time, but he seems to want to see it as nothing more than a friends-with-benefits situation.’ ‘I’m insanely horny for Pretty Red.’ ‘I just really love Pretty Red and he’s turned me from a fearsome bandit into a goddamn ninny.’ 

Nope -- none of them sounded appropriate for the situation at hand, and he wasn’t sure if the gremlin would respond well to any of those sentiments. Or maybe she might be able to handle more than what Kuro expected of her; she wasn’t a goddamn toddler. She didn’t need to be coddled. So maybe there was no need to dance around the topic. 

Finally, he settled with: “It’s complicated, but let’s just say he’s provided me incentives for being on my best behavior.”

It wasn’t like Kuro was going to stop anytime soon. He was beginning to suspect he did it on purpose just to annoy him. “When it comes to you, playing is like a predator toying with its food before eating it.”

Heh. 

Well, Pretty Red wasn’t wrong about that. That was how he enjoyed playing with his victims back in the arena, after all. He’d only shown mercy maybe once or twice -- but that was mostly putting them out of their misery because they had no other choice but to be in the arena, just like him and Shiro. In the end, Kuro still had to kill, but it was his victim’s choice. 

“That maybe so, but sometimes I want to play the other way,” he purred, his hand reaching out to play with a lock of Keith’s hair and he crept up closer to the younger paladin. “The other just has to cooperate with me.”

“Never better,” Kuro quipped, circling around the other as though he was a scavenger. His bloodlust had been especially high today, and he was looking forward to a good killing -- not before having the thrill of a chase, though.
