She has lectured nationally and internationally on the integration of dynamic media with traditional graphic design pedagogy. Happy Holidays!

I felt compelled to make our holiday cards this year when I stumbled upon a box of vintage ornaments (I’m guessing from the 1950s – 60s) that belonged to my grandmother. The cards exterior design is linoleum cut, inspired by the shapes and luster of these little beauties. A touch of silver and gold pen was added to brighten the prints. A total of 63 cards were printed; three sets of 21—considered an auspicious number in eastern philosophy. Each card is hand-numbered on the backside.

Generative drawing tools

Students in my Interactive Projects class have been tasked with creating a generative drawing tool than that enables anyone to contribute to a visual mark-making process — regardless of skill or knowledge of drawing and design. Student's tools can manifest in any number of ways, and can be approached as a physical, digital or mechanical process. The above is a drawing tool created in Processing, using random variables.
