I think you need to have a balance when you’re going to HEC, you can’t really be buried in books all the time, it’s not worth it. It’s more important to network and learn about other cultures, because that kind of an experience: you won’t get anywhere else!
Alex Liu (H.07), Singapore
You cannot just get whatever you want, you have to give back as well. So contribute, answer to whatever queries you have from young students looking for guidance, and try to entertain the life of the Alumni.
Kaeko Kurebayashi (MBA.13), Osaka
I want to say thank you to the HEC graduates, and to the Alumni, my friends, because thanks to their strong passion and strong ambition during the school days, I could shape myself in order to have more courageous decisions and to make my career different from the past.
Junko Adachi (HEC Paris Japan Office)
Welcome to Cool Japan!
Dear HEC colleagues and friends,
'Cool Japan' was so named by foreign visitors to Japan from all over the world. 'Cool Japon' by French visitors in particular.
Why do they call our country so cool? - Country of safety (the safety and mineral water is free of charge here in Japan) - Country of ethics (two thirds of lost cash in wallets are returned to the owners and more than 90% of forgotten items in taxis are returned to those owners.) - Country of punctuality (bullet trains are not allowed for the delay of more than 15 seconds and courrier service is precise by two hours for delivery.) - Country of convenience (24 hours open convenience store offer you whatever you need from lunch, dinner to underwear and any iPhone devices and those convenience stores are all around you.) - Country of hospitality (all Japanese people will help you to find your ways despite the language difficulties)
All these are just a part of the Cool Japan.
We, together with Tokyo, Keio and Hitotsubashi universities, are waiting for you to our Cool Country, Japan!!
Anoop Billangwal (EMBA.13), Delhi
Unknow your local habits, just open your eyes, internationalize yourself, meet personalities from different continents, and you will find yourself in the ocean of learning. Go for it, and it will be a great journey, I bet.
