The reason jesus got so mad at the Pharisees all the time was because they abused their roles as Spiritual leaders. They put burdens on people, making them work for salvation and acceptance instead of extending grace. Jesus said, "come to me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and i will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for i am gentle and humble in heart; and you shall find rest for your souls because my yoke is easy, and my load is light."
