Adelean couldn’t believe it when he caught himself holding his breath as she jumped– from an even higher point than he anticipated, even. The alchemist hasn’t calculated that much height into the percentage of how likely it’ll be for the warrior to make this jump unharmed. Just the back would’ve been critical from his point of view, but her choice just came off as blatantly insane.
He winced and took a few steps back when she was just about to land and while part of him couldn’t watch, he just had to. It was incredible how she saved herself despite obviously hurting her leg.
But then, his attention went back to the massive creature that was, at last, falling to its demise.
It was over.
Adelean stared at the Centurion for a while and briefly forgot why he was even here in the first place. He was in awe of how intact the machinery still was, and his thirst for knowledge needed to be quenched even more than it had to be before. But, eventually, he looked back at the warrior. On closer inspection, she looked terrible.
“ Are you alright? I know a thing or two about Restoration magic that could be of use to you. “,
he offered, as he carefully fastened his staff on his back again and approached her. Once he was close enough, he extended his hand to her with a polite smile.
“ Adelean Maneveos. A pleasure. “
The cavern around them rumbled with the impact of the great machine crashing to the ground after her. She could feel the vibrations from it under the well worn soles of her boots when the Nord skidded to a halt a few steps away from the Imperial. Who seemed to be lost in his own- very obvious- state of curiosity over the thing that was just trying to kill them.
He should consider himself lucky that it wasn’t going to be getting back up any time soon or his head would have already been taken clean off of his shoulders by now.
Valin, herself, hadn’t given a single thought to the state of her own being until the mage managed to snap out of his trance and mention something about restoration magic.
Then he coming closer to her, offering his hand to her, and the warrior took the time to really look at him. Eyeing him warily for a moment before reaching out and carefully taking his hand in her own. A couple of more positive sounding grunt serving as her response to both his question and his introduction.
Yes, as terrible as she felt Valin would still consider herself to be “alright.” But if he could get rid of that annoying throb that had started up in her ankle then she would allow him to at least do that much.
