“I wouldn’t accept no for an answer because we are family.” he chuckled as he took off his jacket to place it upon the chair she offered him. He stopped at her following statement, his brow furrowing as he looked to his sister. “I don’t believe you are using that word correctly. Its a little uncomfortable.” Then again, when have either of them used slang correctly? He had only gotten used to the slang of the early 2000′s and now people call themselves Daddy? He didn’t understand. “No, I saw you through the window. I considered going home, but it’s been some time and I will admit, I could have missed you. The jury is still on that decision. But what are you doing here?”
"Oh, is that how family works? Perhaps I should have started my own years ago, I would’ve had multiple people to lord over.” She held her mug in her hands and observed him as he sat down across from her. It’d been over thirty years since they reunited, and she still wasn’t quite used to the sight of him. ”If it suits you, I could always refer to myself as Mommy.” She knew that wouldn’t help at all, but couldn’t resist the tease. Slang was something she didn’t bother to think twice about, particularly around Alister. He would still understand her nonetheless. “Let me know at the end of this conversation what the verdict is, then.” She missed him too. “A little after-feeding treat.” She jerked her head down to the mug of hot chocolate cradled in her hands. “I guess you could say I needed a palette cleanser.” If she didn’t have human food afterward, the aftertaste of her last meal would keep her hungry. And if there’s one thing she knew about herself, she shouldn’t be around others when she was hungry. “What have you been up to, brother? I wish you would have caught me earlier. We could have shared a real meal together.” She thought that would be a good bonding activity.
