Isabel let her feet take her wherever they felt to go. She pulled her jacket around her, scrubs still on as she had just gotten off work. She paid little attention to the people around her, focusing instead on her thoughts and the tugs of fear she felt off and on. It was a silly thing, to be afraid of someone already dead. But nightmares still plagued her, and the scar across her shoulder was a reminder that she could have died for being too trusting. Her patients today had her thinking about her future, and what weighing what was important in life. She hardly noticed that she had ended up on the docks, a bit surprised with herself for unintentionally heading to an open area. Stopping, she breathed in, relishing in the cool wind and the sound of the waves.
Running seemed to bring him peace, it always had, but for so long his mind had been everywhere else that the hobby escaped him. But in light of events and with his father still in the hospital, he needed to escape himself. Sometimes he wondered if he made the right choice, if he should have followed his sister when their mother came back--no, he knew this is where he was meant to stand and its where he would stay until they were safe. He couldn’t keep running, he couldn’t be like the rest of his family he couldn’t. Garrett slowed as he came to the docks, not noticing how far he’d gotten from his end of town. While he wasn’t tired, he slowed and decided it was as good as any to catch his breath. That’s when he caught the sight of the red hair and for a moment--he had hoped. He started towards the woman, but as he got closer he could see it wasn’t his sister. No, only a stranger. He started to turn back, finish the jog, but he couldn’t shake her expression. “Hey, you alright?” He called out to her, not sure if she wanted to be bothered, but what could it hurt?
