If you were to look for another book to read after Roland Barthes Camera Lucida, in context, what would it be?  What is the context?

I would read Mai Al-Nakib book The Light of Hidden Objects. A book that was inspired by many books imcluding Camera Lucida. It shows what life was life in the middle during war times and how picture help tell the story.

"The photograph has power" "The photograph seperates attention from perspective" Every photo has a meaning , a story , a sense, an air. You can look at a photo with really seeing it. It has power but by looking at it too hard it can lose it power, its air.

There are many ways to interpret one photograph. The meanings, stories and messages behind it are infinite. Although photos are usually meant for private use, the public can openly express their ideas on it.  Do photos really authenticate the existence of a being ?
