Was she freaking out? Perhaps. Cristina could have been heart-achingly focused on the fact that she well knew this was the summer she was so desperately and messily in love she wound up married - or, perhaps, she could have been sick to her stomach over the close proximity of her father to her. Hopeful that if this was really happening (how could this really be happening?) her friends were here. Her real friends. Ask her though? She was mid-meltdown over the fact she lived in a crapartment and had to working for a living. Plus, this outfit? Fabulous sure but not exactly what the Cristina Mendez of 2020 had been known for wearing. With a sigh, she pulled on her very best smile, turning to them with the hint of mischief in her eye— “You know at least fifty of my late husband’s closest friends would just die to have skin like this again. And, well, everything else. Not me though,” she added, lowering her voice conspiratorially before winking, “I’ve always been hot.”

Henri raised her eyebrow at Cristina, pushing her braids out of her face as she watched the girl with an icy glare; less so than that, even. It was like she was empty behind the eyes. “Mm,” she hummed “your husband who suspiciously died...how long after your wedding?” She asked curiously, a hint of spite in her voice. It’s not that she was accusing Cristina of being a black widow, it was more commenting on the fact that her ex-friend had a preference for men that were a vigorous hand-job away from her getting a summer home. “Long time no see, I’m sure you’re glad to be laying off the botox for a while.”Â
