Built-in shelves are ALWAYS meant for plants.
We’ve been reorganizing our apartment like mad the last few weeks! This wall used to have a pegboard full of photos and tchotchkes. We have changed so much in the last few years, we felt as though we needed to declutter to help feel calm in this space. Now every time I walk into this room I can’t help but say “I love it!”. Still a work in progress, but we have been hunting for perfect pieces (more plants!) which takes time. If there’s anything I’ve learned, it’s not to settle.

You’ll go mad for the whimsical and colorful decor at this vow renewal. | See more Alice in Wonderland inspired event decor on Disney Style.
Simpler times, uncomplicated designs.
I think of this room as my sister’s dream room. Simple with minimal colours and vintage animal pictures. I love the curtains framed in black too match the black glass doors.
Everything about this simple white and natural living room makes me feel calm. All of the seating areas look especially welcoming, I think I would have a hard time choosing a favourite spot.
I’m loving this bachelor set up: Ombre curtains can be pulled across for privacy, but opened the room totally works as a cohesive living space. Lot’s of textures keep this room ultra cozy, and the plants just add that extra bit of fun to the space.
I have a domain again!
Hey guys,
I used to have a domain for this, but then it expired and someone stole it. They haven’t given it up now so I finally caved and got a different one. You can now reach this blog at : herdofblackblog.com
Hopefully will be posting more than I have been lately.
Let me know if you’ve got a space you’re working on and would like some inspiration!
Searching for a tree for our new bedroom/my workspace. I’m in love with fiddle leaf figs, but we have a bit too much light for one.
Here's a sneak peak at my new workspace.
I just built a desk for myself in my new apartment, and this desk was my inspiration.
Major balcony envy. Getting ready to go buy some patio furniture tomorrow, I have lot’s of things growing out there, but clearly not enough flowers! This picture justifies buying more plants, and preferably ones with glorious blooms.
Just getting settled in a new place. Will post pictures soon!
I'm all about oversized artwork right now. This room does a great job of pulling together cool silvers and warm golds and browns.
Despite all this concrete, they've sure managed to make this look like the coziest spot to be. Combining the warm whites, browns and oranges instantly warms up the otherwise cool concrete.
Writing nook inspiration at it's best. What a dreamy combination of brick and wood. I love the built in wood shelving behind the bed that wraps around the corner.
