Temple of Apollo at Stourhead by Julie Bozarth.
Madeira, Portugal
“Oo, snake shoes, that’s so cool! I have a ton of gold-toned snake jewellery if you want to go through it and see if anything might work for you for the event?”
“ew. No, I don’t want to do anything with snakes.”
one week later:
“I found a cool snake necklace I want to get it for the event because it will match my shoes!”
'East of the Sun and West of the Moon' illustrated by Kay Nielsen, 1914.
“When people ask me what Emily Dickinson poems are about, I want to run away and hide, simply because for me, some poems are not about the ‘about’. They are metaphysical spells that you hold close and don’t really want to elaborate on. They help you to go on when you have nothing else left to go on with, the kind of poems you remember even when you don’t want to remember them.”
— Ilya Kaminsky, before reading ‘hope is the thing with feathers’ (via juliens-bakery)

“I forgot that when you get drunk you become so liberal other liberals hate you”
I think what you mean is: when I get drunk I stop masking, trying to please everyone, and call people who THINK they’re super liberal out on their shit and some people don’t like it because they realise they’re still living more in their privilege than they want to admit or do anything about and that makes them, or in this case you, uncomfortable.
The world is burning, don’t fucking come for me, I don’t have the energy to pretend I’m the problem just to make others feel better
I’m upset by this comment because it’s fucking bullshit, but I’m also hurt. so, I’m crying too. because shit like this has come at me so many times in my life that I find it beyond difficult to believe for more than a single second at any given time that I’m not incredibly difficult to love
