Welcome, new player, to "Heroes of Envell"!

You can call me Mod Guide (or simply Guide). This is a blog dedicated to one of my favourite shows of all time. "Heroes of Envell" is a russian CGI/2D-animated series for teen audiences made by Parovoz Studio.

Best of all, it is completely free to watch, with an official english dub of season 1 on YouTube and season 2 subtitled by some enthusiast (me!). So you can totally check it out! [WATCH HERE]

The main premise is that four teen protagonists (yep, all four of them are equally main characters!) discover a laptop that can teleport them to a video game world. Seems pretty basic, but the things this show does with this plot, the questions it asks, the themes it tackles...! It sure is something!

The show may not seem like much at first, but believe me when I tell you that it's amazing. Now let me just get onto some formalities before I start rambling--

Hey guys! I know I was pretty certain on keeping the adult characters' names as they are in the english dub, but now I'm not so sure.

I just want to avoid confusion, but I don't know which way is best for that. Original names will look just like they sound, but they're a first name and a patronymic, which english speakers don't usually have.

Meanwhile, english dub names look more natural to english-speaking viewers, but randomly seeing an english name in a russian series surrounded by characters with russian names... It may throw people off.

What would you like?

Which names do I use for adult characters in the english subtitles?

Original russian names (Marya Stepanovna, Yelena Victorovna, Arlen Semyonovich)

English dub names (Ms. Johnson, Ms. Helena Norton, Mr Palmer...)

So I am glad I stumbled upon your page. I knew they had an english dub for the first season but couldn't find any subtitles for the undubbed s02. So thank you so very much for the work you did. Sad about S02E01-S02E09. Guess i got here to late to see those up and running. But hopefully one day you will have them subbed again. :-)

I decided to start off with season 2, since season 1 at least has an english dub to get us through for a while. Meanwhile, season 2 has no english translation and I gotta fix that!

Hi! I heard some people discussing about S3, but is it true? Did the creator ever confirm a Season 3, or is the series officially over after Season 2?

Do you happen to know what the latest update or news the creator has shared about the series is? 👀

Greetings! The creator of the series has not talked about "Heroes of Envell" since it ended and is currently working on another one of his personal projects. It will also be an animated series, but a different one.

He said that the story of Envell is now in our (the fans) hands, and we can continue it as we please through fan works.

However, he has also mentioned that he left some questions intentionally unanswered (e.g. where the mysterious energy source that powered the Center of the World came from) in hopes that he could return to this story, so there's that! Nothing official has been going on, but nothing is impossible in the future~

Dude I just discovered heroes of envell sometimes ago thanks to a friend who post an edit of it. It was extremely hard for me to get clips or watch the series since a lot of countries somehow have quite a lot of internet restriction to some other countries as well and the fact most of the co tent regarding of the series are mostly Russian which unfortunately is not a language I'm able to speak. This blog is more than awesome, it's very helpful also thanks for the dedication in it!!!! I really appreciated it!!!

Season 1 subtitles deleted?!

Hello everyone! I have been informed that my subtitles for the season 1 episodes, as well as season 2 episodes 1-9, are gone without a trace.

The website I used to make subtitles on and with - amara.org - changed the way it works. I won't bore you with the details I don't really know anyway, what matters is that all the videos I ever subtitled there are gone. Its kind of awful that they did this without informing me via e-mail, I have that enabled and everything. I could've at least downloaded the subtitles file. But no.

I have other tools to make subtitles now, and I promise that I will definitely remedy this loss. I will do ALL of season 1 this time, episodes 1-8 included. Who knows, they might turn out even better with my current english level?

It will take some time though, and I currently have other priorities with translation-- but I promise it's coming!!! "Heroes of Envell" and this blog are incredibly dear to me, even if I don't appear to be active here.
