The disguised Rocket agent was surprised at Ash’s defensive reaction. Since when did the kid get smart? Well, he still wasn’t smart. This was just a fluke of course. And Jessie could always outsmart him.  "Don’t you want to know for sure?" She looked at the young trainer with a tilted head, her tone endearing and curious.

    Although Ash wasn't as dumb as others thought, he was still indeed naive and quite gullible. Her question was more than enough to climb underneath his exterior, soon sparking his curiosity and his yearning towards being the greatest. However, his eyes were still embedded with suspicion, and as such, he replied back to her with a voice tainted in a doubtful tone.

                "--Are you sure? I'm starting to not trust ladies with freaky plans-- especially considering what happened last time I did!"

"Well, she’s pretty girly, for starters. Big on dressing up and all that stuff." If he knew his younger self, he would likely have some remark in store about that sort of thing, so he continued. "She’s a Pokemon Coordinator - she competes in these things called Pokemon Contests, where Pokemon show off their beauty and how cool they are through moves! It’s some really cool stuff."

It made sense to start with her profession, after all - he often defined himself as a Pokemon Trainer, so why wouldn’t Dawn do the same?

         "Pretty girly, huh? At least that's a bit of a break from Misty...!" Although he wasn't a fan of more feminine things, Ash could at least appreciate that she didn't seem as volatile as Misty. The younger Ash knew that he could rest assured, for his tastes were still as ripe as ever.

         However, his content only lasted for so long, for the mentions of contests already caused perplexity to surge through the capped trainer. Ash cared more for getting down and dirty, battling against the odds and having a teeth-grinding battle of epic proportions. Contests? They just didn't seem too appealing for him.

     "--Don't tell me she's gonna force me to do those things! There's no way I'm going to make my family prance around for kicks!"

Not having bothered to look up, she had assumed it was James or Meowth.  Jessie put the sunglasses back on fully and repositioned herself on the large boulder. “What are you doing here, kid?”

   "Almost as pathetic as your battling skills, that's for sure!" Ash crossed his arms and peered down at the female with pupils of suspicion. He distrusted both her and her nonchalant attitude, her past actions being more than enough to grant it. The only difference on this gorgeous summer day was that she was without the company of James and Meowth; a fact which only furthered his doubts and hostility.

                   "Hey! Wait a sec! Where are James and Meowth? Did they finally get tired of your mood swings and leave?"
