Rule Ideas for Your Little
Not all littles want or need rules but if your little wants them or you think they could benefit from them (with their permission of course) here are a few rules to consider. If you’re a little and want some rules here are some ideas to help your caregiver.
🌟Bedtime- littles often have a hard time getting to sleep at a reasonable hour so setting a bedtime will be very beneficial to their overall well-being. Figure out how many hours of sleep your little needs (likely around 8-9 hours but will vary) and then set their bedtime that many hours before they need to get up.
☁️Self Care- littles, especially those who suffer from mental illness can have a hard time with self care and may not be very good at keeping up with personal hygiene. You might consider setting rules that require showering once a day, brushing your teeth twice a day, removing makeup before bed, etc. If your little has difficulty remembering to take any necessary medications or pills then that can be an important rule too. Consider setting a reminder on your phone so that you can remind them.
☀️Nutrition and Fitness- littles often make bad food choices. Some may not eat enough, others might not drink enough water, and others just want to eat candy all day. Consider setting a minimum amount of meals and water and a maximum amount of candy or other unhealthy foods. If your little isn’t getting all of the nutrients they need then you might want to require a vitamin. You can also set a certain level of physical activity or specific physical practices (yoga, stretching, walking, etc.) that are right for them.
⚡️Work- littles have responsibilities but it can sometimes be hard for them to keep up with them or get them done. If your little is in school consider creating a rule that requires getting all of their homework done or asking permission to miss class. Chore requirements can also be helpful. You can set rules to make sure they keep their space clean.
🌈Cute Stuff- some rules are just meant to maintain the dynamic and help them feel like little innocent babies. These rules can include no swearing, no arguing or being disrespectful to their caregiver, no watching adult things (rated R movies, TV-MA shows, etc.), and requiring them to send you a picture of their little self everyday.
