That One Odd Night
I'm pretty sure most of us have dreamed or daydreamed our dream date. Well for me it's this:
Meeting him at a neutral space until I feel comfortable to be alone with him. Once that happens, We'll ride a motor through the traffic and enjoy the breeze and sunset, casually talking about stuff.
We'd stop by somewhere to grab a snack and talk some more. He held me by the waist as we crossed the street to buy a cigarette and he'd smoke.
He had both our bags, his bag on his back, mine on his other arm, placing his cigarette on his lips making room for his other hand to keep me safe.
At this point, my heart skipped a beat but at the same time calm.
I feel safe
This is also where we got comfortable being close to each other physically.
If you saw us at that moment you would think that we've known each other for a while.
But of course he'd ask questions that I wish he wouldn't ask, mistakes that I spent so hard burying, he pried and I felt tempted to tell him but in the end that secret stayed on its coffin.
We rode the motor again, this time I was quiet I didn't think he'd know that I was uncomfortable but he did,
he noticed,
and he apologized.
He made sure I felt comfortable and that I'm safe with him, his arm rested on my legs as he leaned on me a little bit guiding my hand to his.
I didn't want to go,
I didn't want it to stop,
I like how warm he feels, I couldn't help it,
I leaned closer and rested my chin on his shoulder.
It was a night to remember. An odd one at that.
I want to hold him but I need to remember,
this is not a dream anymore.
He brought my dream to life,
A Dayle, for a tale unexpectedly came true.
And in a real life, the pain can be unimaginable. So I'll guard my heart.
And I hope he does the same.
