Could you tell us about akir's children?
me cracking my knuckles absolutely blasted that i get to answer this question: YES OF COURSE!!!
both of akir’s daughters are adopted!
akir likes kid’s naturally, but adults always tell them to stay away from him because of his affiliation with the thieves guild and generally intimidating physicality. he thinks kids are good because they haven’t become shitty adults yet, and he’ll always pause to play a game, have a chat or split some taffy with the local kiddos.
zahvi is the little khajiit girl, and akir’s first kid. akir keeps tabs on all the khajiit caravans that go through skyrim, they help bring stuff across the border, and he also just misses the companionship of his own people, it feels good to connect and get the local news from home. he left elsweyr in his youth with his brother fa’anir to travel, and only goes back every now and then to visit his grandpa, zan’hani. anyways, a caravan had come by riften with a newborn baby that had lost it’s mother, and akir, having been recently married to marcurio, decides to take her and raise her in a home where she can learn about her culture and homeland and grow up speaking her mother tongue.
while passing through rorikstead for jobs and rest stops, akir had become familiar with the people and always had it out for lemkil who he’d noticed treated his daughters poorly. being a dad himself, it really grinded his gears and would tell the girls if anything came up to talk to the guild and ask for him. after a dragon attack left sissel and britte without a dad, they’d ended up at honorhall in riften where akir lives, and recognizing sissel as “the squirt from rorikstead with the dead beat pops” he took her in immediately.
the girls get along well, zahvi likes to read, forage and cook, while sissel is keen with magic and marcurio guides her magic studies closely!
akir also likes to babysit, and occasionally gets shafted with his brother’s baby heehee.
(basically a dragon roasted lemkil to bits, and when i went to honorhall to see if the kids were okay only sissel showed up, britte was gone! as for zahvi, i just like the concept of akir taking in a khajiit squirt to teach her ta’agra and trying to work towards getting the khajiit more rights inside city walls lol)
