I have been watching Christina since she started youtube, I was 10 years old when I found her. I have had on my bucket list to meet her ever since, it’s been at the top. I have followed her ever since, watching her grow and gain more and more popularity…when I found out the news this morning I sat and prayed it was a joke some kind of sick sick joke. I proceeded to stare at the wall for the next two hours trying to process what I had just read, and the fact that this man…who was coward enough to kill himself…doesn’t have to pay for what he did to her. She was shot somewhere between 4-6 times and she dies 5 hours after and throughout the day today the only thing that has been on my mind is how scared she had to have been.This coward got to die before she did.. Christina was selfless,down-to-earth, positive, inspiring, talented, and all around one of THE MOST genuine people I have ever seen. Today I sat and was in denial but not once did this event leave my mind. I kept rereading it in my head, “Singer Christina Grimmie was shot dead in Orlando, Florida at a meet and greet after her concert.” Now, at 1:13AM everything is processing or starting to…I can’t stop the flow of tears and the gut wrenching sobs of knowing that this woman, who inspired me to even share my voice, who was finally getting a career going by doing the one thing she loves doing with every ounce of her being….is gone. I’m seeing people post about how it’s a gun issue, it’s not a gun issue, it was a security issue. Guns do not kill people, the gun did not pull the trigger itself. If a person were to die during surgery because of a mistake made by the doctor, you wouldn’t blame the scalpel, you’d blame the doctor. When someone is killed in a drunk driving accident you don’t blame the car, you blame the person driving it. Overall, this man never should’ve made it in the venue. This was a security issue and it never should’ve happened…but I digress, but because it did all I can say is my thoughts and prayers go out to the family, fans, and friends of Christina. Thank you Christina for all you have done for me, without you I wouldn’t be where I am today. Rest In Peace Christina Grimmie- Team Grimmie for life \|/

I could not have stated it better. I’ve watched her since I can’t even remember when, before the Just A Dream cover came out that’s for sure. She had such raw talent that will never be seen again in this world. I agree that it is not a gun issue, the gun didn’t fire itself as you stated. There are things in this world that don’t make sense and this is definitely one of them. I am still in denial and disbelief. I look at her pictures and listen to her music and think that she is still alive and is living her dream. I know she is gone, but at the same time my brain thinks she is still alive and it is really rather confusing. 

I don’t understand how this man got through security with two guns and a knife. We aren’t allowed to bring in cameras but a man can bring in a gun? I’ve been to countless concerts and I know how security checks go, we are patted down and if we have a big bag they do a quick search of it by shining a light in quickly and taking a look. That man should never have been let into the venue at all. 

What really kills me though is that right before she was shot, she held her arms open to this man for a hug, something that she always did with all of her fans, she wanted to hug them and let them know how much they mean to her. This man then shot her when she was least expecting it. She was 22 years old and had so much more to do with her life. When I found out I was out bowling with my siblings and friends. Let me tell you, I did not enjoy bowling at all that night because all I could think about was Christina.
