So I’m trying to wrap up Ghothi’s story in a satisfying way. She is now pa of the “harbinger of frost” which is some elite task force that destroyed the one-clan cult in the mountains. She’s found out that revna is dead. She doesn’t have a whole lot to live for any more and is very much in the burn everything mindset of grief. Love me some angst.

I have an idea of doing a ritual at game that would reignite the one-clan cult to an extent and make whoever choose to participate undying. It would give the clans armies a boost and hopefully win the war. (Wars never end) But it would mean sacrificing herself in order for it to work.

I’m also thinking of running for war chief.

Shaved my head yesterday morning. Went to my friend’s graduation in the evening and then out to the city for a bit of celebratory bar hopping. After the first bar though there was a couple out front getting into a bit of a domestic. He shoved her into a wall and I yelled out hey in the scariest voice I could find.

He comes up to me and gets in my face asks what I’m shouting about, I quote “you stupid dyke bitch”

All my boys come crawling out of the bar like termites and there’s a huge stand off between old mate and like six of my male friends who are all built like they could survive a Scandinavian winter.

My girlfriends are checking on old mates girlfriend to make sure she’s ok. Idk it’s a pretty messy situation. It got deescalated and then escalated again. Old mate took his shirt off. A bunch of young kids came to help him? police got involved. Like I said real messy. Like if I didn’t have my boys there I don’t know if that would have ended well at all. Im surprised it even ended well this time.

The mighty nein's romantic entanglements are soo funny when you try to put them down on paper. Like. Jester is in love with Fjord, who has feelings for her too but also he was seduced by and slept with an evil cult leader, who was also the ex of his father figure, whose accent and mannerisms Fjord was mimicking while sleeping with her. Also the evil ex flirted with Beau, who then got her killed and stole her clothes. Beau was growing feelings for Yasha but then Yasha turned evil and had a dead wife so Beau slept with Reani (who was also attracted to Caleb and Essek) and developed a crush on Jester and then Yasha came back and she reciprocated but also she too may have had a crush on Jester, and also she invited Veth into a threesome with her and Beau. Caleb also has feelings for Jester and they never really went away and he thinks Fjord is really hot and he's being hunted by his two evil exes from his old polycule (who he's maybe planning to murder so he can use their bodies to fake his parents' death but none of them ever got over each other) and his best friend (who was married before she died and came back wrong) is in love with him and his feelings for her are more complicated than can be described in words and she’s the most important person in his life and he isn't necessarily in love with her but he is jealous of her husband. He and Essek were honeypotting each other for information but then they really liked each other but then Essek was evil and Caleb projected on him like crazy and now they grow green beans together. Molly flirted with everyone and slept naked in his and Fjord's room, but also all three instances of him expressed attraction to Caleb specifically and who knows where that would've lead had he lived. Jester thought she was romantically unlovable and that she would be alone forever. They’ve all seen each other naked (to search each other for evil eyes). Caduceus is there, eating popcorn.

Mild spoilers for CR Campaign 2

I don't think I've seen many people discussing this brief shot in TM9 1x08 - but it's very interesting in terms of adapting Beau's story from the original campaign to the animated show. Because unless the portrait is a ploy by the Lionett family to show all of their children at their most marketable ages, it appears like the age gap between TJ and Beau is going to be much smaller than it was in the campaign

So as a campaign watcher I just wanna say spoilers ahead for show only watchers.

I was really anxious about the animated series after I heard there were gonna be changing some things and I’m still enjoying it as a seperate piece of media.

Buuttttt I’m not super loving how they’ve got the beacon as such a McGuffin and the m9 are planning to steal it instead of just accidentally running into the people stealing it and then keeping the mysterious magical artefact for funsies.

My main concern is that we might get the xhorhaus arc before the pirate arc and the iron shepherds arc. Which I’m fine with postponing the iron shepherds thing even tho I’d love to see caduceus.

But I’m just so confused and worried about how they’re gonna go about yasha and this whole beacon thing.

AND I SWEAR TO GOD IF THEY MAKE YASHA TAKE THE ROLE OF THE IRON SHEPHERD IM GONNA STOP WATCHING IT ALL TOGETHER BECAUSE THAT IS WRONG ON SO MANY LEVELS

But I predict we still have another season or so with Molly and I’m sincerely hoping we get the Molly yasha bestie dynamic that means so much to me. And we can just deal with the whole Oban thing later and everything is great and happy and no more deviating from the original pls.

I’m also unhappy about how the carnival got destroyed and Gustav dying and toya dying and it all being the fault of these weirdos that Molly has no real reason to stay or hang around with.

Just please don’t make yasha a villain. Like she’s Already been introduced as a villain let’s be real. She’s only had a couple minutes screen time and most of that is mindlessly killing anyone she comes across with just a sneak peak into I love my dead wife. Again spoilers, but it’d be real nice if we start the next ep with yasha getting a calling from the storm lord and breaking free if only briefly to meet the mighty nein rather than fighting each other for the luxon beacon and being enemies straight away.

And like if she kills or grievously injuries the mighty nein I don’t really see them trusting her or wanting her to be in their group in the future ya know?

so far the only serious complain i have abt the animated series is not even abt the series itself but abt the death of the filler episode bc the story of the mighty nein is perfect for long seasons with a bunch of fun and weird filler eps. it would absolutely shine in the atla format where we have serious plotlines spanning several seasons but it is sprinkled with the silliest shenanigans ever in between. i know this format is sadly a thing of the past atm and i continue to be angry and sad abt it. just imagine how perfect it could be.. just to let the story and characters breath.

it is standard for the material components of find familiar in D&D. both in 2014 and 2024, the components must be burned with 2014 being more detailed in that they "must be consumed by fire". still, the visual direction in The Mighty Nein makes a choice to really highlight that element, where in the campaign it's de-emphasized or even often elided what exactly Caleb does with the incense.

it's a great and strong choice, I think, to retain this from the components rules of the game and then markedly emphasize that this magic involves setting a fire, given that—as we know from the campaign, and as hinted at in the opening titles—Caleb killed his parents, destroyed his home, and killed the original Frumpkin in that very way.
