“alright so today in the hidden camera files of hwanggeum library, i say guy three rows down is about pull up a tab and watch the nasties for another hour.”
best thing about the campus, lounging around is just an excuse to talk shit. and he appreciates having found someone to do it with.
there’s something intensely, aggravatingly tedious about hauling ass to the library in the morning and continuing to stay there for multiple hours, multiple times a week. however, there’s something more intensely, aggravatingly tedious about imagining all the ways his parents would disown him had he chosen to quit school. as a result, liu haoran finds himself in the corner of the fourth floor of the library, like clockwork, at 9am with his textbooks, laptop and a heat pack.
he’s not quite sure when daehan started being more of a constant in his life as opposed to a series of coincidental meetings (the fucker plans them, haoran knows he does) but it’s not entirely unwelcomed. sometimes, it’s just comforting to watch someone fuck everything up and not care, for once.
it’s also stressful: but more comforting.
sometimes, he can’t really believe that daehan’s an actual person. like moments like now, when he just seems to know that haoran’s at the library and drops by. then he sees the two bowls of steaming ramen in his hands and (after the initial thought of han daehan what the fuck), decides to use this as further evidence to confirm that he isn’t human after all.
he accepts the food regardless, chopsticks in his left hand as he watches the other inhale the noodles with poorly concealed awe. haoran doesn’t really like talking with his mouth full: unfortunately, daehan does not seem to share the same proclivity.
“you’re hideous.” he deadpans, as though that would have an impact on the multitude of noises and expressions daehan’s showcasing to the rest of the floor. “i bet you’ve been watching him for the past ten minutes.”
