"Mabel? Are you there?" Gideon knocked on her door. It would really suck if he'd stopped by to drop this thing off while she was out. He was cold, the gift was cold- and hard to hold. Another hopeful knock and he waited, praying she'd answer. The thing in his arms yipped a little.

“Gideon?” Hearing the voice, she jumped up from the couch and rushed to the front door. She opened it and grinned, “Gideon, hey! I didn’t expect you to come here, especially when it’s really cold out today--” Her sentence trailed off when she peered down at the gift in his arms. “Oooh my god, what is that? Is that what I think it is?”
