‘ how about you leave me alone before i ram my foot into your goody basket, wolf. ’ wow, little princess has a smart mouth. doesn’t look like she’s gonna be cooperative anytime soon- sorry sheriff.

This was going just as he’d expected it to. Not many people were a fan of his, and this woman was no different. Bigby needed answers though, and knew he needed to work on being patient. So, he drew in a deep breath before putting the cigarette out. 

“I’m NOT the bad guy here. I’m trying to keep you and everyone else safe from danger, and I need to know if you’ve noticed any suspicious activity currently. I’ve caught wind that there are a few undocumented Fables roaming about. Do you know anything about that?”

“Just tell me what you know, and I’ll be outta your hair.” He took a long drag of the cigarette and exhaled, his gaze eerily calm as he studied the other.

There’s always a few immediate responses to anger people have. Fear, anxiety, rage, tears, yelling, sarcasm. All these things seemed pretty valid and, currently, she felt them all at once. Almost like a spinning wheel like she’d seen on those TV game shows before the mundies watch. Round and round, hyper speed, until the pointer lands on one and the contestant wins or loses or something.

How unfortunate that her own wheel of fortune landed right on the cusp of anger and sarcasm, huh?

“Well, jeepers, Mistuh Big ‘n’ Bad, it ain’t like I’m a friggin’ victim either. But go on… keep fuckin’ yellin’ at me. See where that gets ya.”

She had a gash on her arm from whatever happened. No shit, she saw it- and maybe she even tried to stop it. But her failure’s enough to keep her silent even as she’s clutching her arm, glancing away. She’d give him information (truly, that would be heroic, right? since he’s so easily angered and so damn vicious-), but her own pride is suffering at the moment, so maybe she’d just let on the idea that if he stopped aggressing her, she’d open up more.

“’Sides, even if I did know what happened, s’not like you’d listen to the whole story. I hear you only listen to what you wanna hear… and I ain’t aboutta get further involved in this damn mess for noone.”

Oh, this was just fantastic. Another Fable who didn’t wanna cooperate with the sheriff. Didn’t they all know he’d do anything to protect them and this town? He gave a roll of his eyes and let out a quiet grunt at her words. A few seconds of silence passed and he fixed his gaze back on her, studying her carefully before spotting the wound. 

“I wasn’t yellin’ at ya before, but... alright. Whatever helps you sleep at night.” He hated arguing with others, it always put him in an even worse mood than usual. Some say he’s a ticking timebomb, and... yeah, it might be true. But at least he was trying to help. Bigby wasn’t too proud of his past, and he’d do anything to take back his horrible misdoings. 

His pacing ceased, a look of concern showing in his eyes. “What did happen, then? I’m willing to listen to everything you have to say.” There we go, he’s being nicer. “Is... your arm okay? I promise not to tell anyone else.”

“You’re saying you don’t know ANYTHING.”

He was beginning to lose his patience; well, the last bit he had left, anyway. His eyes focused in on the other and he exhaled a deep sigh. ..he knew just about everyone here in Fabletown, but he couldn’t remember her name. He started pacing, hands moving behind his back as he thought. 

Bigby needed to keep his temper in check, but it was... difficult. “People have been seriously injured, buildings have been broken into, and yet... you claim to know nothing at all. Is that right?”

He notices the monster’s stare, and part of him wonders if he can honestly trust this guy. The way he’s being stared at is rather unnerving, and it does nothing to settle the uneasy feeling in Bigby’s chest. His words, however, brought the man out of his thoughts.

Bigby keeps watching the skeleton, his shoulders still a bit tense. There was no way he’d calm down until he knew for a fact that he’d be safe. Where the hell was he, even..?

“Many of my type?” What the hell was that supposed to mean? Was that some kind of insult? Hands curled into tight fists down at his sides. 

“Wolf. Bigby Wolf.” 

He peeks over his shoulder before looking back at Sans. “What is this place? Last thing I remembered, I was chasin’ a guy up a mountain... and now I’m here. Where ever HERE is.”
