You know that feeling where you don't like broadcasting any identifying information about yourself online for the sake of privacy but then you see people from ur country/culture talking and having a community together and u kinda wanna be like hello hi i know that language too can i sit with u BUT that would involve giving over said personal info and also telling people that info on the first interaction would be an incredibly weird kinda cringy thing to do AND you did not grow up in (language's) country of origin and don't speak it as perfectly or as naturally as a native speaker and would likely have trouble communicating in it through text so you basically have imposter syndrome about the whole thing anyways so itd be kinda weird to claim you can speak it and then publically fail at doing so, so you just kinda attempt to send out vague hints that you recognise their specific cultural references but you arent entirely convinced you don't just look like a weird tryhard the whole time? Haha me either
