顔、部屋、身振りのような、いったんは馴染みのあるものが、記憶の中で少しずつ形を変えていく。その不確かさや、誰かが去ったあとに残る色・姿勢・光の断片を、アクリルガッシュで描きました。

These acrylic gouache paintings begin with familiar things—faces, rooms, gestures—and allow them to shift through memory. I was thinking about what remains after someone leaves: colour, posture, fragments of light, and an image that cannot fully settle.

残像の痕跡 / Traces of an Afterimage

SAVEPOINT, Kyoto — June 2026

A few photographs from the night.

These paintings began with faces, rooms, and gestures that felt familiar, then gradually refused to settle into certainty. I was trying to paint what remains after someone has left: a colour, a posture, a fragment of light, a body remembered incorrectly.

Thank you to everyone who came, stayed, looked closely, talked, drank, and made the room feel alive.

I’m trying to find the point where a person remains recognizable, but only just.

Not disappearance, exactly. More like the moment a memory starts rebuilding itself incorrectly.
