——— ELAIN tried to shove down her fear, mostly out of shame of acting this way around her sister. How many times has she had to look up to her baby sister? How many times did she have to rely on her, when she herself was the older sister who to be responsible? She felt the guilt catch up to her in the worst way, so she swallowed her anxiousness, tried to contain herself as she nodded at Feyre’s words. “ It won’t work. ” She answered, perhaps too dully and harshly. Her mind flash with visions of humans that have tried, humans with powers that flashed from their very fingers that thought they could get out. “ I think it’s best we try to find our way closer to civilization where someone might help us. “
There was little shock in her face when she was handed an Illyrian dagger. But her lips did tighten at the sight of it. She was still not used to such violent weapons, but she was not new to the sight of them. After the war with Hybern… not an evening goes by when she doesn’t dream about the glint of the silver of a sword muddled with someone’s blood. Elain took the dagger from her and gave her sister a half-hearted smile at the slight about her talents with a dagger. “ Believe me, I’m starting to regret not having those lessons now that we’re someplace else. “ she admitted as she shoved the dagger within the lace belt of her night gown.
Her heart seemed to curl in on itself as she saw Feyre release a breath, trying to figure out the cause of their being sent here. Today would have been a brilliant time to have her Seer powers to work, but it comes on as the most useless when she can only see flashes of the past rather than the future. “ If Nesta or Az or even Rhys aren’t here… with you not even reaching down that mating bond… “ she shook her head before looping her arm around Feyre’s. Her eyes drifted to the direction where her sister came from. “ We have to go where you came from. Try to find help. Or a safe place where we can figure out where on earth we are. “
She began to lead Feyre towards the direction where her sister had appeared. Her hold on her sister stiffened at the mention of Lucien. If she could help it, she always tried to avoid talk of him–or any part of him. Because knowing him… talking to him… accepting him as her, well, “mate”, meant the end of the human part of her that still lingered within. “ Yes, it does sound a bit ridiculous… But I suppose I get they named themselves that. Sometimes… ” she trailed off, not sure how to go on. That sometimes she felt as much an exile as Lucien did? An exile in the mortal lands, at least. She mentally shoved the thought aside before she side-eyed her sister. “ You don’t think he’s… here, is he? ”
feyre knew in her gut her powers wouldn’t would against the spells in tact this time, it was different, almost a different matter. she could sense it. it frustrated her to no end, maybe if she could break it they’d be able to winnow out of here, they’d be able to go home. her head was beginning to throb with a headache. “i guess we should find civilization and not just stand around like cattle.” she eyed the weapon now sheathed in her belt, it looked so brutal and rough against soft, gentle elain. sweet elain who had stabbed truth-teller into the king of hybern’s neck. if it weren’t for her nesta and cassian most likely would be dead, he might have even won the war with how things were going on the battlefield. it was then she realized her sister was still wearing her nightgown, “do you want me to,” she motioned to her attire with a hand, “give you something else to wear. i’m not sure if you want to walk around here in that, who knows who’s out here.”
“hopefully it was just us who were sent here, it would be more concerning if all of us ended up here. the others are back home, safe, and figuring out a way to get to us. I’m sure of it,” she said it to reassure not only elain, but herself. because imagining anything different than that scenario, to think their sister and the inner circle were in danger, it made her nauseated. her mind flashed to rhys lying dead on the ground, how their bond was shredded then, she could still feel the echo of the hollowness lingering. reminding her she never wants to endure that again and she won’t have to. she looked to her left arm, to the tattoo of intricate swirls and whirls that went up to her elbow. the bargain her and rhys made, if one dies the other will die too. it kept her wits about her, reminded her that he is still alive, that they’ll be reunited again. they always do. using her opposite hand, she rested it on her sister’s arm that was looped through her’s and began to walk. “i hope this place is safe, that this isn’t some horrible trap. we’re still recovering from the war, rebuilding velaris, now this happens. at least we have each other. i would hate to be alone here.”
noticing the sudden stiffness from elain at the mere mention of lucien had feyre thinking twice about bringing him up. it wasn’t as if she was trying to push the two together, feyre knew how important choice was, she just wanted them to be able to be in the same room together without things getting awkward. “do you? well maybe you can enlighten me then because it seems to me he wants to be an exile if he’s willing to label himself as so.” angling her head to meet her sister’s gaze, feyre raised a single brow, “that’s a good question. why don’t you tell me? after all the two of you are mates, you can try talking through that bond to see if you can reach him.” mating bonds were still something feyre wasn’t fully educated on, besides her’s and rhys’ that is. it was unknown whether or not every mated couple had a bond like theirs, one that ran as deep and concrete or if they were on a whole other level. although she was unsure of that, she was certain that all mates could communicate with each other in some way through the bond. “have you ever used it before?” a silly question to ask perhaps since elain didn’t seem particularly fond of lucien whenever the two were in the same room.

“I don’t understand it either. It’s not good, at all.” Jude admitted. He hated pumpkin spice because he couldn’t understand the popularity of it and the flavor sucked. Why didn’t something else catch on during the holiday season, like candy corn flavored coffee or something like that. “Whoever invented it should be prosecuted honestly.”
“it seems popular by the looks of it, since ninety percent of the menus has some sort of pumpkin spice something. maybe it’s a way to torture all of us,” she joked. “there was a coffee shop i stopped into that sold things called pumpkin spice latte. we don’t have whatever a latte is back home either.” although she was joking earlier about this being some sort of torture, feyre was beginning to think this whole place was some type of new hell they were all brought into. “i say whoever invented this whole place and sent us here needs to be prosecuted.” she gritted her teeth, “the things i would do to the little prick who sent us here.”

Judith raised an eyebrow at the girl when she mentioned that the food was disgusting. “What are you eating?” She asked, her curiosity getting the better of her. She never understood it but with the outbreak so many years ago, she never really questioned her food, she was just happy to eat. “Oh. I have no idea. Thankfully that craze ended during my time, or at least in Virginia it did.”
using a fork she picked at the food, “a turkey cranberry sandwich, it’s just—,” it was nearly impossible to explain to someone the difference between faerie and mortal foods. surely to humans this was delicious and if she were still mortal feyre was certain she would have enjoyed it. “it’s not as good as i thought it would be. you can have it if you want, i’d hate to see it go to waste.” virginia, another unknown name, another place she hadn’t heard of. “so i take it you’re not from around here either?”

NANCY’S EYES felt heavy as she sat in her booth, staring at the steaming cup of coffee before her. not really talking, head was full of invisible cobwebs. forcing her to look like a zombie with dark circles under her eyes. all she could think about was her family, her brother, especially. no doubt the two didn’t always get along, yet she was still worried.
when the other brunette spoke, nancy hardly heard her. mouth agape for a moment, “oh— i hardly noticed all the pumpkin everything ??” words were low and slow from her tired stupor. “i haven’t really had the food— just the coffee.” leaning into scoop up the coffee with both hands before turning her body towards the other, “i’m nancy— hi.”
as the girl turned around feyre took in her appearance, how incredibly tired and drained she looked. there was once a time when she looked like that at well, dark circles almost permanent on her face when she was enduring the aftermath of what took place under the mountain and the poison of the spring court. before rhys saved her. it ignited concern for the other girl, “are you alright, perhaps you should have something to eat along with your coffee if you haven’t had any food.”
she was unsure if everyone around here appeared in this place or if it was only some, but if the other girl suddenly popped into here it would explain her appearance. “it’s nice to meet you, nancy. i’m feyre. maybe you can tell me what’s going on around here? i still don’t know much about this place, what it is, what i’m even doing here.”

“i think this place is getting in the halloween spirit . it isn’t so bad if you order the right stuff “
her eyebrows knitted together in confusion, “halloween? i don’t even know what that is. is it some kind of holiday.” back before she lived in prythian, when she lived in the mortal realm her village did have holidays. though humans there stopped celebrating them because they were supposedly created by the fae and mortals despised fae. she couldn’t recall one of them being halloween though. “this place gets more confusing the longer i’m here. i’m afraid it will be bad no matter what i order here. it’s fine though, i’ll eat something when i get back–” home wasn’t the appropriate term to use for the copycat manor to her real one back in velaris. “..to the replica of my actual home. does no one else find it extremely odd that we live in homes identical to the ones back where we actually live?”

“I don’t know…I think it’s because pumpkins are normal in this not Auradon . .but can i have your food if you won’t eat it?” Gil is starving and that looks so good and not rotten so he picks it up and sniffs it.
just a few short years ago feyre and her family were near starving to death, it still pained her to see food go to waste. even though she can longer eat mortal food it still didn’t sit well with her letting it go to waste so she was relieved when the male asked to have it. there was a hint of a smile on her face for when he picked up the food and sniffed it, it reminded her so much of cassian. “yes, please eat it. you can have this too if you’d like,” she slid her tea across the table to him. “you mentioned a place called auradon? what is that?”

“i, uh… sorry. i’ll move.” reed said nervously, quickly gathering his things and stuffing them into his bag, sighing when he knocked his water bottle over and saw splats go over his artwork. the cafe was really busy and he was sat in the corner by himself. well, he was. the male got to his feet and swallowed thickly, his heart picking up the pace. reed hated how awkward he got when he talked to people. “…again, sorry.”
tucking a hair behind her ear, feyre made sure they were still glamoured to look like a mortals. they were still curled and not pointed and she had just cloaked herself to hide her otherworldly power before stepping outside this afternoon, so it was unreasonable to her that this male was acting so strangely. “no, no it’s okay really,” she tried to reassure him and not wanting to be the reason for him fleeing she turned toward the exit, “i was just leaving, i didn’t plan on staying here long.” noticing his artwork was no practically ruined from the water her stomach sunk as if it was her own. being an artist as well she knew how devastating it is for a piece to be ruined. luckily she could easily fix it with her magic, she sent a small flicker over the piece without having to look at it. the splats of water fading away, as if his artwork was untouched. feyre was trying to be lowkey about her abilities, but she couldn’t let someone’s hard work be ruined. “you’re an artist too?” she looked down at his piece, “it’s beautiful, does it mean anything special to you?”
feeling tired and stressed from spending countless hours using her magic in attempts to get back home feyre stopped into the diner in hopes of getting something to eat and perhaps a nice cup of tea. it wasn’t until she took a bite out of the turkey sandwich did she realize this was human food, she couldn’t eat it. once you ate food from the faerie realm there was no way back to mortal food, it will taste horrid in comparison. the food felt like bile in her mouth and she tried, really tried to swallow it, but instead she gagged on it and had to spit it out into a napkin. at least she had her magic, she’ll have to use it to make food appear, but not here in this diner where other people could see. she still wasn’t sure about this place or the people in it and concluded it’d be safer to use her magic later when she’s alone.
“disgusting. i forgot how awful this food was,” when the words left her mouth she regretted them and hoped no one who would be offended was around. wanting to change the subject from her untouched food she scanned the menu when she noticed something strange, “why are the majority of things here pumpkin spice flavored? what even is that, i never heard of it before.”

*· ☆,.- “Are they gone?”
Daphne could not believe this had happened to her. She had been outside late, yes, but was that already a reason to attack her? While she had experience with supernaturals already - or, people who claimed to be - this couple had been more than scary. They had first asked for a lighter, then both started to sort of flirt with her… and then things had turned pretty creepy pretty quickly, which had ended up in Daphne running and hiding in a barrel - despite the smell inside, and depite that the bottom of it was pertty wet and slicky.
“Please someone tell me they are gone….”
one minute feyre was walking along the streets of the town, unable to sleep in that mansion which was identical to the one her and rhys had just gotten built in velaris, it was too eerie. too absorbed in her thoughts she was nearly knocked over when a flash of red hair ran past her, followed by two strangers who gave off a creepy vibe. standing still where she was, she was able to get into the couple’s minds, digging invisible talons within them she began to alter their thoughts and memory of the girl they were going after. it would have been easy to kill them, but it would draw attention and since she knew nothing of this place she opted out of doing so. once they were gone feyre searched for the girl and found her in a barrel. “they’re gone, you can come out now,” she offered her hand out to help the girl out. “you don’t need to worry about those two coming after you again. but do you mind telling me why they were after you in the first place and what they were? those two were no mortals.”

——— IT WAS ALL TOO MUCH. Her mind fogged with visions of a town, of several people looking just as confused as her all at once. Some days, she could handle the presence of her powers as a Seer. Other days, she wanted to shut off the visions, sometimes keeping the sight of them to herself so as not to be additional burden to her sisters, or to anyone in the Night Court, for that matter. It flashed in colors, and a growl nearly ripped her throat at it.
But before she could lose her frustration, she envisioned a head of familiar dark blonde hair. It was all too good to be true, too good to believe the sight of her sister in her mind. She wanted to scream, but then she saw it now–no, she heard it. Rustling of dirt and a pair of strong Fae feet rushed towards her. And when Elain whirled, she felt the breath get knocked out of her when she was enveloped by the thin arms of her younger sister, Feyre.
“ Feyre, “ Relief flooded Elain as she inhaled the scent of her sister. Sweat and paint. It was something familiar and one she could hold onto. “ I’m fine, I’m fine. I haven’t seen the others. I-I don’t know how I got here. I was just sleeping… at the river manor, and then I woke up here and– ” Her doe-like eyes widened in fear. “ Nesta. Have you seen her yet? Or Azriel? “
for her sister’s sake feyre tried to remain calm and shove down the panic that was rising within her. they would never figure things out if they both were frazzled. remembering her own strength and power, what she is capable of feyre was able to keep a straight head on. they’ve been through so much already and this was just another problem to face and conquer. “this place..it smells of mortals and something else, i can’t place it though. we should try to be careful though, who knows how people around here will act toward faeries.” smelling the fear on elain she debated whether or not to voice her opinion on what happened. it was better for them to be prepared, “i don’t want you to worry and i’m not sure what is going on, but i fear we might have been taken by an enemy and being held captive. i can’t winnow us out of here so that must mean there are wards around this place.” like in hybern, on the dreadful day her sisters were forced into the dark waters within the cauldron and she was forced to watch, unable to help them. “i can try to break them, but i’m not sure it will work.”
her hand went to her waist, whatever force took her decided to take her at a good time when she was training since she still had a couple of weapons on here. “take this,” she held an illyrian dagger out to her. “in case someone comes after you, we both know what you’re capable of with a dagger,” she gave her a small grin. “although i did think by now you and nesta would have taken at least a couple of lessons with cassian or azriel.” truthfully it did irritate feyre a bit that neither of them attempted to train and learn self defense, especially after the hell they’ve endured. maybe when they return she’ll get cassian to nag them about it again.
feyre’s eyebrows scrunched together as she though, “how could something like this even happen, is it even possible someone could bring us here without even touching us. i was on the roof of the house of wind when i suddenly appeared here. it was as if i winnowed here, but i know i didn’t do it.” she let out a deep breath she didn’t realize she was holding in. shaking her head sadly, she checked the mating bond once more before responding. “no, i haven’t seen her. but az was on the roof with me along with cassian and rhys, i haven’t seen them either. and the mating bond is quiet, so wherever rhys is he’s too far away to actually talk to each other. i can feel him though so that’s a good sign.” noting how elain mentioned azriel and not lucien, her mate, feyre decided to take it upon herself to mention him. “i haven’t seen lucien either. wherever he is maybe he’s hanging around with his band of exiles,” she couldn’t help but scoff at the name of his little group. “cauldron, what a ridiculous name, and people think rhys is dramatic?”

*· ☆,.- Charlie had a problem. He had not expected it to happen, and, even more, he had not expected it to happen so soon. He was sitting in the park, slightly hidden behind some bushes, in his hand the egg that had been in his pocket when arriving here in Cedar Grove.
“You really did pick a bad time to hatch, little one,” the red-haired wizard whispered, shaking his head. “A really bad time….”
it’s been barely a day since arriving in this strange place and while most of the people here seemed content with staying here, feyre was not. she refuses to be comfortable and go along with whatever was happening, she still was unsure of what or who brought her here. not to mention there was no way for her to contact rhys, the mating bond was still silent, which made her anxious. despite trying to winnow out of this place for hours now and coming to the conclusion that it most likely isn’t how she’ll leave she kept trying. this time she appeared in the park where she had been about thirty minutes ago. a few feet away from her sat a man whispering and thanks to her fae hearing she was able to make out what he said. she walked closer to peak beyond his shoulder, her eyes widened slightly. “is that..a baby dragon? i’ve seen many different creatures, but never a dragon.” although amren was probably the closest thing to a dragon, she didn’t think actual dragons existed. “how did it get here?”

——— ELAIN had been sleeping on the soft covers of her bed one moment, and awoke to the cold, hard earth the next. She was not opposed to dirt–the complete opposite, actually–but when she smelled the difference of the forest air compared to the forests in Velaris, she knew she was somewhere else entirely. Her mind flashed her a mess of large buildings, nothing she’s ever seen before, moving contraptions that dotted the streets and people holding glowing boxes in their hands. It was all unnatural.
Her feet carried her as far as they could away from the forest, all towards peculiar noises that might lead to civilization, towards the smell of metal and smoke. But she was directionless now, and terrified, stopping at a spot and spinning around to assert her surroundings. “ Hello? Is anyone out here? “ Elain cried out fretfully for the first time since her running around like a headless doe.
feyre was on the roof of the house of wind training with cassian when suddenly black mist enveloped her as if she winnowing, she knew she hadn’t done it. her assumption was rhys had grabbed her, wanting the two of them to be alone, and winnowed them somewhere else. she hadn’t felt anyone grab her so that assumption was wrong. now she stood in a strange unfamiliar place, still in her fighting leathers. a place she immediately knew wasn’t part of prythian. rhys. her first instinct was to call out for him through their mating bond. rhys, what happened? where are you? she was meant with silence through the bond, the distance between them too large to communicate normally. although she couldn’t hear him, she felt him, knew he wasn’t in any danger, that alone brought her comfort.
her next tactic was to try to winnow back home, when envisioned velaris there was a slight mist surrounding her, but nothing happened. taking a deep breath she tried winnowing to another court, the day court, but that too was met with nothing. another try, this time to her old home in the mortal realm, back to her village. that was useless as well. she knew her powers hadn’t dried up, she could feel them thrumming through her veins. just to be sure she tried winnowing to the other side of the street she was standing in and that was a success. so what was going on?
not knowing if she was sent here as a trap, if a new war was starting, or if something entirely different was going on she smelled the presence of mortals and glamoured her pointy ears, making them curved as a mortals. it was best to explore where she now was instead of standing around, maybe she could find out what was going on, and how to return home so she began her descent into the town. only a few minutes passed when a familiar voice shot through her ears and she saw her sister nearby looking terribly frightened. “elain,” her name sounded like a prayer on her lips, relief washing over her knowing she wasn’t alone. but also concerned that elain was here in this strange place as well. she sprung to her sister and wrapped her arms around her in a tight hug. leaning bag slightly to look at her feyre began her list of questions, “are you okay, how did you get here? wherever here even is. have you seen the others?”
