“Why don’t you let anyone in?” He asks with frustration clear in his voice.
“So that I don’t lose them, ever.” She answers without looking him in the eye
She sounded like she was about to cry. But then I heard her take a breath. Then she changed the subject. Everyone did that. When something hurt, well, we just changed the subject.

RAY OF FUCKING SUNSHINE
↳ a comprehensive insight on Robin.
BACKGROUND
> She doesn’t know her biological parents and never had any parents at all because she bounced around in the foster care system from the start. By age ten, she lost count of how many families she had lived with.
> Since she was a very lonely child without any routines or stability, she found solace in various things such as books, climbing trees and looking out over the world for hours and music.
> It was by age eleven that she to stopped giving a shit. Before she had attempted at school and to fit in but she realised that it wasn’t who she was. Life was so much easier when she flipped off the world.
> Since she skipped school and rarely spent time in whatever foster home she was in, she had to find other interests. Cars quickly became an obsession of hers. They offered a freedom she didn’t have and adrenaline she never knew she needed. While only twelve, she was surrounded by people that taught her to hot wire cars and drive.
> Once she became a confident driver, she was unstoppable. She stole cars and sold them to chop shops for fast cash, took them out for joyrides or entered street racing competitions for the fun of it.
> She drove as fast as she collected misdemeanours, spent more time in juvenile detention centres than she did school. None which stopped or scared her. She was so high on adrenaline, basking in the attention her skills gave her and the reputation that she had built for herself that she felt invincible.
> It was at twenty three that she ran out of luck and since she had a hefty record of misdemeanours, she was sentenced to four years in prison but was released on probation after three years.
PERSONALITY
> She’s not an actively mean person but she’s blunt and have no brain to mouth filter so she might come across rude or malicious but she isn’t. Unless she’s mad because then she’ll set fire to all your things.
> Her humour is dorky as fuck and she loves puns and dad jokes.
> She has very little patience and wants things to happen now and not later. It stems from her childhood when she constantly had to wait for answers or actions by adults that took care of her. A part of her believes that if she have to wait, it won’t happen at all.
> She loves doing stupid shit like explore abandoned places, break into places, do insane dares and essentially anything that’s potentially dangerous or illegal.
> Beneath the surface, she’s very insecure and lonely. She doesn’t mind being alone but sometimes she believes that it’s her fault that she is. She’s never been worth anything to anyone, she’s only ever been a nuisance that’s been thrown into every direction possible in hopes that someone else would take care of her. So the only thing that’s been constant in her life is her.
> But she’s also aloof, blunt, cynical, self-destructive, disorganised, forgetful, impatient, insecure, irresponsible, messy, opinionated, tactless and unreliable.
APPEARANCE
> Her wardrobe is functional at best. Her t-shirts are washed out and many full of holes. Black skinny jeans were not bought with holes but time has worn them out. Most of her boots leak or are falling apart. She just doesn’t care too much about her appearance.
> Her hair is messy and she often forgets to brush it. She keeps it in a ponytail or braided 95% of the time.
> If you ask her what’s in her makeup bag she’ll reply “what makeup bag?” because she doesn’t wear makeup. Ever.
> She can’t walk in heels for shit, not that she wants to or own any.
> She has too many tattoos to count. Some she’s done herself, others friends have done and then, naturally, tattoo artists. Here’s my inspiration: one, two and three.
> If she ever has nail polish on, it’s black and chipped beyond recovery.
MISC
> She only spends money on snacks and food, it’s the main reason why her wardrobe is a mess. It’s not that she’s cheap or cares to save it but because she doesn’t care about nice things.
> She eats all the time and always keeps snacks and lollipops on her.
> She lives in an apartment with three other people, or at least she thinks so. No one knows who lives there and they all come and go as they please. They don’t have designated rooms but fall asleep wherever. People grab whatever clothes available that fits them, eat what they find and chill. It’s chaotic and there’s probably a family of mice living in there somewhere.
> She generally have a pair of earbuds in and listening to music so loud that it can be heard if you’re close enough.
> She can skateboard and plays the guitar. She can sing too but that not something she’d ever do for anyone.
