Connie knows she isn't a THREAT, that she's REFORMED ( . . . Even found a LOVER. ) But that didn’t stop the ANGER && BITTERNESS from creeping up, being next to Spinel was hard, only slightly harder than being around THE DIAMONDS. It gave her UGLY THOUGHTS && FEELINGS. ❝ Yeah, I'm sure Steven and Volleyball would like that, ❞ Staring down at THE PHOTO of the SMILING COUPLE, everything felt to B I G, so CONFUSING && utterly PAINFULLY HOPEFUL ON Spinel’s end && Connie feels SICK.

SIBLINGS, huh ? GROWING UP an only child to two WORKAHOLICS, she always wondered what having a SIBLING would be like . . . Hopefully one's that didn't try to KILL her. She isn't sure she would be able to FORGIVE them if that were the case. Connie wasn’t like HIM. It’s like STEPPING INTO a VOID / A COTTEN CANDY COLORED BLACK HOLE. PINK DIAMOND. No, ROSE QUARTZ stares back her && Connie forces her gaze to where the DOOR once was. Now it’s nothing but NEVER-ENDING PINK CLOUDS that seem to go on FOREVER.

❝ The door just opened and- ❞ Connie SHAKES her head, cutting herself off. She’s ACTING RIDICULOUS ! She’s talking to CLOUDS !This isn’t REAL. Logically Connie knows this, that it’s just another GEM THING. But she looks so REAL. A TANGIBLE BEING. It made her skin CRAWL. She REMEMBERS Steven saying this only happens when he NEEDED IT. But why would it O P E N for her ? She was just a HUMAN- there was no GEMSTONE imbedded in her SKIN. && the BIGGEST QUESTION on her MIND was why did it show her Rose of all THINGS ? Connie had no DESIRE to see or speak with her. ❝ I need to find the exit. Now. ❞ She turns away from Rose && starts walking, hands clenched at her sides, gaze LASER FOCUSED.

"Oh I see." Cloud rose took a good look around. Stepping behind the girl to see the door in fact has disappeared. "Steven must've left recently for you to get in here." She mused. A light hum in her tone. "Are you that connie he always talks about?" She asked in curiosity. A soft smile soon coming to her features. "You make him very happy but also very sad sometimes. But he loves you very much. I hear about it all the time." She was so caught up in what she was saying that she lost focus. "Oh but you can't leave. Not until he comes back that is. Since you don't have his gemstone you can't make the exit appear again."

She bites her tongue, swallowing the WORDS. Connie wants to Y E L L, wants to be a CHILD again && throw a fit . . . But she CONTROLS the urge. This isn’t about her, it’s about Steven. It’s ALWAYS about him. Something UGLY && BITTER && ANGRY curls in the pit of her stomach. Look at me ! Her mind SCREAMS, echoing in her skull. Be ANGRY ! YELL !
