Going on tour with your band is ridiculously cool. We went to the other side of the country and kids were singing our words back to us and going crazy, was four of the best days i've ever had with some of my best friends and some brand new friends too. Can't wait to do Europer next summer.

No Excuse is a band from Southampton that catched my interest a while ago. Their previous release Anger and Abstinance is still in my playlist often and when they announced a new demo I was pretty siked. Demo 2013 is a two track demo with completely new songs. With just two songs it’s a bit weird for a review, but I’ll do it anyway because this band deserve the recognition.

First song is called ‘One Way View’ and starts with a nice catchy riff. A second guitar is thrown in after a few seconds. The drums are fast and is sure to get some bodies moving. They play fast and loud and sound like many other Straight Edge/Youth Crew bands. Ben Brown’s vocals fit in perfect with the music they play. It’s rough, it’s fast, it’s angry.

Second and last song is called ‘No Time’ and is a punch in the face from the start. The bass is clearly heard and I always enjoy that. It’s gives everything more of a groovy sound. The song sounds harder and slower than the last one but the rough edge and raw aggression did not change.

It’s hard to review just two tracks, I mean it’s over before it even started and the review is just a few lines basically. But like I said No Excuse deserves the recognition and they did a good job with this demo. Whoever haven’t heard or did not like No Excuse before, be sure to give them a chance with this release, because it’s banging. The band has so much Straight Edge Hardcore/Youth Crew vibes and reminds me of some Lockin’ Out bands and some points. So if you dig that stuff be sure to check them out!
