40,000 Ethiopian troops attempted to capture the ethnic Somalis in the region. They were met with fierce backlash from WSLF troops, Somalis, the United Kingdom, and Armed Somalis.

Battles in the Red Sea!

British, Egyptian, Cuban, and American forces have been involved in a major escalation in the Red Sea. British forces caught a huge contingent of Cuban forces in the Gulf of Aden and the Red Sea, supposedly bound for Ethiopia. Other Cuban ships attempting to blockade Somalia. British destroyers and Egyptian vessels were able to inflict significant damage on these forces, but the Cuban air force was eventually able to secure the passage of Cuban troops to Ethiopia.
