Frames from the quiet woods

I like how the purple stands out here.

There's this potted sage on the outside table.

It was perfectly placed to try taking more pictures with the sunset behind it.

My two favourite pictures from the grass experimentation.

I leaned into the effect the sunlight gave me while editing, making sure it's not too overexposed.

These were experiments at, first of all, taking pictures of the grass with the sunset behind to capture the contrast.

Then with a bigger close up.

And finally, after a lot of consideration, edited to be black and white for more abstract and minimalistic effect.

More grassy shots, these ones are a bit more colorful.

And some bug got caught as well.

I decided to go outside in the evening because there's this nice break in a treeline where the sunset is visible.

And since my neighbor doesn't mow his grass, I had a lot of subjects to do some experiments.

A gang of sparrows returns again.

The photos are a bit blurry and "dreamy" by accident - I took them through the window to not scare them away, from an angle that had a bug net between me and the birds.

But the light was really gorgeous.

One of my fuchsias that I bought in a market and is now really grateful with this beautiful bloom.

It was a mystery what color it will be, and it's probably one of my favorites of all I have.

An attempt was made. I definitely still don't fully feel the forest photography, but I also understand why.

There's no one subject I can focus or build the photo around.

Everything is important.

So I need to focus on what I know how to capture - light and shade, and small stories hidden between the trees.

But sometimes just the grass and trees look nice. It's a pretty, green, May forest.
