Feedback I have received from Mark for my final video as well as my A1 board, I then went back and made the changes I had feedback for. I ensured to take on the feedback as this is crucial when trying to make something for users
The final video from the perspective of my Aunt Kate, recollecting the memories of Lisa when she was younger
The final video for Jo’s outlook and memories of my mum
I went back and added some more imagery to convey the idea of remembering a memory where the images over lap and blend into each other
“Personally I love what you’ve created I think it’s a beautiful way to remember someone and to have all those memories of someone in one place as well as the fact that it is so personal to you not only means that it’s something that you’ve kind of done for yourself but also something that I feel many people can relate to from different aspects of whether they personally love someone who they were really close to or whether or not they’ve lost someone who they can’t quite remember at that time that person died.
I really like the simplicity and the timing of the video as it’s not too long that you get bored but it’s also not too quick that you can’t really understand what’s going on.
One of the only things I would do differently is maybe add subtitles throughout the whole thing so even when the whole images are being shown are you still able to at least read what’s been said as this also means that the artefact will be more inclusive as it means people who are difficult of hearing are still able to have the full experience and understanding of the message that you’re trying to get across. I feel as if there’s many things you can do as well just with the one video that you have made and the fact that you’ve made two of course widens the perspective.
I think it would be nice to also just have snippets of the clippers maybe some sort of advertising material.
But I just really think it’s a really good project and you can tell you’ve spent a lot of time on it by how well things lineup together and how smoothly the transition is between image to text to video again it being Personal to you just add something a little extra as well.”
I wanted to get feedback on my work as well as Mark, I found it very useful to see what someone else would do to improve the videos, I like the idea of using subtitles to make it inclusive
For my casebook I have included screenshots to show case the videos, it is difficult to show what happens in the videos but this is the best way to present it, the YouTube links will be available to see the videos properly
When I got feedback from mark he suggested to make the words appear one word at a time, I have ensured to do this. I have also made changes throughout the video that I had suggestions for through the feedback
Mockups of the HOME cinema screening
Storyboards for the videos that I’ve tried to make a little more presentable, these will be used within my casebook
Intro to both of the videos
Another test as my logo seems to appear randomly throughout the video. Even through the logo file is not within the after effects video anymore. It seems to be fine when it is the test files but when I render the whole video the logo randomly appears
After a stressful and unsuccessful night of trying to render my final video several times. Where the audio was lagging, then the video was too slow, then finally for my laptop to run out of storage and proceed to delete images that were included in the video. I consulted mark for some guidance today. Following his advice I have tested small part of the video at 25 frames per second, this seems to have worked. I will now go on to try and render the full final video
Intro for both of the videos
Looking at HOME where i want to display the videos, this would have to be once lockdown has ended. In the meantime they are ensuring people can still watch things through HOME by watching things online
Going through the delivables of what needs to be done for the brief to ensure I’m up to date and to get everything ready for hand in
Going through my original time plan to ensure I have done everything so far as well as mark that I was still continuing the project
Using after effects I have brought images to life by making the water/ sea look as though it is moving in the clips. This is the effect I used on the last video which ties them together. I think it’s an effect that really seems to be effective as it brings the still image to life
