With the coming of Ostara/spring equinox (in the northern hemisphere) this week, I’ve been in the mood for spring cleaning! I am new to honoring the sabbats, but I am excited to celebrate the coming of the spring season! In my preparations, I did some cleaning in my home on a particularly sunny day last week. To get ready for the new season, I wanted to refresh the engergies in my home as well! After doing this I felt overwhelmed with joy, and it felt like a massive fog had been lifted off of me! In the past few days I’ve had great success with overcoming some mental blocks that I’ve been struggling with. So I would love to share this magic with you!!
If you would like to emulate this, I encourage you to adapt it to whatever feels right! Each one of us practices uniquely and you should always trust your gut. Do whatever you do to prepare for your practice (get in the mood, in the outfit, call on your deities or spirits, cast protection, light a candle- whatever feels right!) and get ready to clean!
I created two sigils that work together to clear out stagnant, negative energy and to let in light, positive energy. (I plan to make a post about how I make sigils in the future!)

After creating these and meditating on the intentions within them, I gathered my supplies and got ready to clean. I openened up windows and doors in my home (only do this if you feel it is wise/safe, I wouldn’t want you to lose a pet or invite a burglary- and remember to close them after!) to let energies flow through better and to let in the wonderful sunlight and fresh air. While mopping the floor, I used the mop to draw out each sigil, and then scrubbed over it and imagined it gaining power from the energy I put into cleaning. I also said my intentions out loud to myself the whole time I was cleaning. As a swept and scrubbed, I imagined in my minds eyee that as I physically removed dirt, I was removing old stagnant energy as well. This felt especially effective on my natural wood floors, where I pictured my broom “combing” out old energy from the fibers of the wood.
I finished the cleaning session by clearing out the entire house with salt. I tossed a bit of salt in every corner of each room, and by the front and back doors. I stayed my intentions out loud each time I threw a pinch.
I wrapped up by meditating for a moment on how clean, bright, and positive my home felt and tidied up all my cleaning supplies.
