Hey. It's been awhile. Stay tuned for some fun stuff... -Val @homemadecrap.com
on the cinder block planter what did you use to cover the bottom of the blocks to keep the dirt from coming out
If you click through to the actual blogpost, cinderblockplanter , you'll notice that it takes you a blog, Traditionally Modern Design. Reading the actual description, the original creator used cut up cinder blocks and liquid nails. You can also use heave duty canvas, mesh, or concrete board and liquid nails to get the same effect. I'd probably use the canvas or metal mesh so that moisture would not collect, but note that the canvas will have to be replaced as it can deteriorate over time.

Finally! A pattern can be purchased here: Shell Stitch Owl Hat by Erin Swan
Thanks Erin for the pattern!
-Valerie
Our newest edition arrived this morning at 10:24am. Hazel Kay, 8lbs 13oz, 20" tall...thank you to all who sent us positive vibes/prayers...I promise to be back blogging soon - Valerie
I am looking for the owl hat that is multicolored... the rows are different colors. Any ideas?
The owl hat I featured a while back has been removed. I'd suggest using a "Shell Stitch" hat pattern (which can be Googled), and alternate the colors. It will give a similar effect. Then just embellish like you would for the owl hat...ie, ears, nose, eyes, etc.
I started following you when Olive was just a few months old, if that. It's great to see her now, modelling the things you make!
thanks! sorry I haven't been posting like I use to, but Olive is definitely keeping me busy...Oh, and I'm expecting another little girl in just 6 weeks. It's been a whirlwind experience with our expanding family, but I'm looking forward to having 2 models now!!
