Lately I have found myself seeking things that I can't find in all the people that I have. And I realise the blessing that comes with, to learn that there will always be a void of absence in everything other than The Creator. That is why I'm left exhausted with the creation.

I read the beautiful piece you wrote for your Uncle, from your Aunt’s point of view. May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdous, inshaAllah.

I recently lost my sister who was only 26 due to cancer. She loved poetry so much and I would like to ask you to please write a post of losing your best friend. She was my everything and I was with her until her very last breath. I’m her younger sister and I feel so sad by what has happened and I’ve always connected with poetry as a way of expressing or understanding my feelings.

So sorry to hear that, may Allah سبحانه و تعالى compensate you both in this world and the next and may her ranks be elevated and her resting place a garden of His paradise, آمين يا ربّ العالمين.

I doubt my words can do justice but to honour your request I have written a few lines that I hope can bring some comfort ♡

"Summers have lost their warmth without your laugh to fill our days. Winter forgets the temporalness of it's season and marks the absence of your name. Life although fleeting feels eternal without your embrace. Memories are all I depend on, forever a witness to how much you still live on. Wether you're here or there, nothing's truly changed. I'll carry your soul with mine the way you'd always take hold of my hands. And until the day we are destined to reunite, I promise I won't let go. I'll travel the rest of this life and continue to write our story inked with the letters of your name. I'll preserve the prayers to Our Lord to bestow upon us His Mercy and in turn, wait in patience for a day where we may sit together in His Gardens. In a place where time knows no bounds. For it is His Promise after all, that ' A man shall indeed be with whom he loves' and with faith in His vow, I'll find strength to survive in your absence, yet forever in your remembrance. A stranger, Indeed. Yet a resident in My prayers.

عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَبِي وَقَّاصٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏ لَوْ أَنَّ مَا يُقِلُّ ظُفُرٌ مِمَّا فِي الْجَنَّةِ بَدَا لَتَزَخْرَفَتْ لَهُ مَا بَيْنَ خَوَافِقِ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضِ وَلَوْ أَنَّ رَجُلاً مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ اطَّلَعَ فَبَدَا أَسَاوِرُهُ لَطَمَسَ ضَوْءَ الشَّمْسِ كَمَا تَطْمِسُ الشَّمْسُ ضَوْءَ النُّجُومِ ‏"‏

Dawud bin Amir bin Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas narrated from his father, from his grandfather that the Prophet ﷺ said: "If as little as what can be placed on a fingernail of what is in Paradise were to become apparent, it would have beautified all the far corners of the heavens and the earth. And if a man among the people of Paradise were to appear and his bracelets were to become apparent, it would have blotted out the light of the sun, as the sun blots out the light of the stars."

Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2538

وَقَالَ رَبُّكُمُ ادْعُوْنِيْۤ اَسْتَجِبْ لَكُمْ ؕ

"And your Lord says, "Call upon Me; I will respond to you" Surah Ghafir 40:60

I have called countless times and yet You never tire of my voice. A voice that at times is so silent yet loud enough in the tears that fall. A voice which you make heard even before my tongue finds courage to form words. Words, which my own ears are shy of hearing aloud. Sometimes in fear of wondering just what it could mean to have the desires of the heart and an answer to a prayer, align. And I guess that's the wonderful part of conversing with You, My Lord. No judgement, no pre-notions, no pre-requisites to be able to simply bare all. Vulnerable, yet secure in Your Sacred Company. And so I find myself calling upon You for the millionth time, unashamed, yet with this unwaivering conviction that just as You have so truthfully vowed, shall as always undoubtedly Respond.

وَمَنْ يُّسْلِمْ وَجْهَهٗۤ اِلَي اللّٰهِ وَهُوَ مُحْسِنٌ فَقَدِ اسْتَمْسَكَ بِالْعُرْوَةِ الْوُثْقٰي ؕ وَاِلَي اللّٰهِ عَاقِبَةُ الْاُمُوْرِ

"And whoever submits his face to Allāh while he is a doer of good - then he has grasped the most trustworthy handhold. And to Allāh will be the outcome of [all] matters." Surah Luqman 31:22

"Indeed, Allāh [alone] has knowledge of the Hour and sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs. And no soul perceives what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul perceives in what land it will die. Indeed, Allāh is Knowing and Aware." Surah Luqman 31:34

A family member got married recently and amidst the happiness of the occasion I couldn't help but feel the stagnant absence of my beloved uncle. It's been years and yet my heart struggles to come to terms with losing him. Something about celebrations make me feel somewhat hollow within, it feels wrong at times to be happy when he's not here. I find myself looking for him in family photos, I find myself wishing he was here floating around with that rare but warm smile on his face. I find myself missing him in moments where it seems he's been forgotten, in places where he isn't but my heart tells me he should be,

All to just say that it doesn't matter how long it's been and how long it will be, I'll still find a way to carry him in both my saddest moments and my happiest memories. Because the truth is I miss him so much that at times, it's as if he's still here. And so maybe it's okay to not just survive in his absence but also live in his absence, because either way I'll always find a way to hold onto his memory. -honeyliruh

اللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ وَعَافِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ وَأَكْرِمْ نُزُلَهُ وَأَوْسِعْ مُدْخَلَهُ

May you find healing in people who know how to love you the way you've always hoped. To salve the wounds you've spent too long trying to disguise. To love you unconditionally in such a way that you begin to forget the depths of all the scars within. To hold you in a way that promises they're here to stay. And to finally tell you that it's okay to keep your guard down, because they'll be the one to forever fight in your defence ♡ -honeyliruh

يٰۤاَيُّهَا الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوا اصْبِرُوْا وَصَابِرُوْا وَرَابِطُوْا ۟ وَاتَّقُوا اللّٰهَ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُفْلِحُوْنَ

"O you who have believed, persevere and endure and remain stationed and fear Allāh that you may be successful." [Surah Ali Imran 3:200]
