What was the reason you started shipping Shadamy?
Iāve been into a lot of different media over the years, but I really do have to say, Shadamy is truly in the very highest tier of my favourite ships.
When it comes to romance, the thing that draws me in the absolute most is when thereās a character who has a void in their heart, trauma ingrained into the fabric of their being, and this person comes into their lives and just gets them. Others might misunderstand the traumatized character, think that the traumatized character is cold or otherwise impenetrable, maybe even view them as an assholeā¦but that special person just somehow manages to reach into the depths of their soul and see their truth. They might even call them out on their bullshit. Accept them and all of their darkness. Believe in them when no one else can see what they see. Save them. Profoundly.
This is the most romantic thing in the world to me. Several of the ships in my pinned Meet The Artist post have this in some way or another.
Shadamy has this in spades and it really touches my heart. I absolutely love the dynamic they have and how they interact with each other.
Amy can reach Shadow when no one else can.
This started in the very game where he made his debut.
Upon their very first encounter, Amy glomped him thinking he was Sonic. He let her. He freaking smiled.
In that same game, she was the catalyst to his face turn.
The importance of this moment in Shadowās life cannot be understated.
As time goes on, itās clear that he has a soft spot for her. Ian Flynn agrees ā¦
