Demeanour unlike any other she had witnessed at this point of time; he barely registers that he may appear almost irate in such a state. Brows furrowed and lower lip caught between his teeth β a bad habit he cannot seem to shake, especially in times of deep concentration β his gaze travels up to her face but quickly drops back to the issue at hand. Still, if she has any concern for his sudden aloof tone, she need not worry too much.
With a sigh, he holds up a finger as he hastens towards the toilet. Heβs sure he has a first aid kit somewhere, brought on a whim once just because quite enjoys the concept of being prepared, and thank goodness for it. But had it been moved? Sharing a toilet was hard enough, but sharing a toilet with a bunch of boys that feel closer than brothers? Well, itβs a miracle to find things where they had been left, regardless. By the grace of God, it doesnβt take too long for Hongseok to locate it (really it was down to luck that it caught his eye, hidden up on a shelf he wouldnβt have thought to look at if his eyes hadnβt wandered for a moment), internally celebrating a minor victory as she dashes back towards his friend.
Once he has returned, lifting the kit to her eyeline and waving it lightly as if to tell her 'donβt worry, Iβve got it sortedβ, he really wastes no time at all. One hand on her small shoulder, he pushes her down gently in order for her to take a seat. The stoic expression returns as he rummages through the kit he opens, kneeling on the ground besides her as he does so. In this mindless task, he realises how uncharacteristically quiet he had been since Sua had turned up with a bloody knee. It was an overexaggerating on his part, he knows it. And he feels bad, especially bad when for the most part she had seemed normal until his sombre expression and urgency for action had silenced her. Or maybe it hadnβt. Maybe he was just burrowed in his own thoughts that he had been unable to engage, missing everything she says.
It makes him feel even guiltier. He just didnβt like seeing her hurt, in any form.
βWhat on earth were you doing for you to have hurt yourself this bad? Did you think you were spiderman or something?β he continues to chide, tone a decibel lower than usual but with his usual playfulness slowly returning.Β
βWatch out, this might sting a little.β Itβs a warning, one mere millisecond before he gingerly wipes the raw skin with an antibacterial wipe; internally wincing from the sting she undoubtedly feels. Itβs better to be safe than sorry though, plus he assumes sheβs not the type to want him to hold his hand through every single step.
Best to get it over and done with.
Hongseok softens a little now; itβs feasible that this is the result of his guilt for his reaction, or simply knowing that sheβll be okay soon enough. βNow, Iβll patch you up good as newβ¦" One hand carefully peeling the back of the plaster, he begins to position it just over the bloody knee, making sure to avoid pressing the adhesive against the wound. Heβs so careful, not wanting to hurt her anymore than she already had been.
Another sigh escapes, this time far lighter in nature and his features finally brighten a tad. He glances up at her, offering his hand in a silent request for help up.
